For many years, philosophers and mystics have been questioning creators and their creations. All sorts of different cultures have myths, images, stories, and metaphors. In modern time, we look for scientists to answer our questions that we have. Science claims to know the story about the ultimate nature of matter, the origin of life, and the nature of consciousness. Most people say that God is everyone in this world’s creator. Does that mean that he should be responsible for everything anyone in this world does? Good or bad?
Another problem that people seem to have is whether or not the parents are responsible for their child making mistakes in society. Just because you created a child, should you be responsible for every little thing your creation does until the day that your creation dies? These questions cause much stress and concern for a lot of people. A lot of people looked at Victor as a horrible person because he created this horrible creature that murdered people. If Victor is so bad, then what does that make the scientists who spend nearly years trying to clone animals and humans?
Is it wrong to see God as an artist of the people in this world? If believed, he is one who works with love and allows his creations to enter into the manifest world of space, time, energy, and matter and puts us here to grow and evolve. The creator is no more than the creation of the limitations of the human mind. In my own personal opinion, parents are no more responsible for what goes through their child’s mind than a teacher is responsible for a student doing their homework.
While not excusing or explaining the origins of human cruelty, we may also believe that the creator in allowing creation to enter into the world, the creator has also opened the door to freedom and choice for all that it is for the creation. Many creators, like parents, want the best for their creation, in other words, children. They either want their child to have better than them or they want them to be just like them. It’s like they want to make a clone of themselves for their own personal satisfaction.
Most parents realize that it is not like that at all. Every person has their own thought process and they know right from wrong but if they decide they want to do wrong, then that is their decision. It is in no way their parent’s decision. If a teenager decides to steal from a store and gets caught, who gets arrested? The person who stole the items or the parents for not raising their children right? Society has placed so much responsibility on the parents but the people who act like they are the perfect parents, really are not.
I feel as if parents who pressure their children not to do bad things are the ones who have to go out at one o’clock in the morning to get their child from the police station. Victor Frankenstein was a creator in the story Frankenstein. He decided to put his intelligence to work and he got a bunch of different body parts and attempted to cure death and learn how to bring people back to life. He did not intend to harm anyone of create a horrible monster who would soon start to kill people. After a while, it was almost like they were going head to head.
They were both fighting against one another and trying to get revenge on each other for the losses of their loved ones. It was like they were brothers and they just bickered at each other. Although it began to get a lot worse as time went on. The creature blamed Victor for the way he looked and talked. The creature was battered and bullied by other people whenever he went into town. The creature did not understand what he had done wrong, in reality, he did nothing wrong. He was created and not taken care of properly.
It is one thing for someone to raise someone or teach them right from wrong and then a parent would turn their back on their children. But to actually create them and then leave without even teaching them any life lessons or anything at all is completely wrong. People have very different opinions of creator and creation. We discussed a lot about this kind of thing in class. Creator and Creation also ties into Taking Responsibility in a way. I realized this as I was writing my paper. I kept using the word responsibility.
It goes to show that someone who creates something should be responsible for teaching the creation right from wrong and the basics of life. I do not agree how people say that parents should take responsibility for everything their child does. Once a child is older and has been taught to have good values and has been taught the basics of need to know life, a parent is not responsible for their child going out and making dumb decisions. The responsibility falls completely on the child. The child did the wrongdoing, NOT THE PARENT.
