“I believe that everything happens for a reason. People change so that you can learn to let go, things go wrong so that you appreciate them when they’re right, you believe lies so you eventually learn to trust no one but yourself, and sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together. ” –Marilyn Monroe. I also believe that everything happens for a reason. Every decision we make in our lives reflects our future. I believe in doing the right things so good things will come my way. Nothing happens by chance, everything happens for a reason. We all make choices in our lives.
Sometimes we make bad choices and as a result bad things come our way. Sometimes great things happen to us as a result of something we did or choice we made. Sometimes things happen that are totally out of our control. The choices we make help pave the roads to our future. Bad things that happen to us might not make much sense at the time but they were meant to teach us, or perhaps to make us a better person. We might feel that it’s the end of the world. It may even be something tragic. The hardest ones are when loved ones leave us to go to a better place.
We can never understand why, we just have to believe that there is a reason why they had to leave us. But had we not been faced with such dilemmas, we would not have realized our strengths, weakness’, or potential we have. These experiences are what make us. They create the person we have become. A few years ago I lost my job of 9 years. Not because of anything I did, but the company needed to save money and thought that eliminating my position would benefit them. As first I was devastated, but as I look back that was probably the best thing at the time that could have ever happened.
Had that not happened to me, I would most likely still be making $11 an hour and working the same old job. Because that did happen to me, I decided to go back to college to further my education and I ended up landing a job at an accounting firm that has a pleasing and promising future (not to mention, I make more money). Life is full of obstacles and bumps in the road and we learn and take something from each one. Everything happens for a reason, sometimes unknown to us at the time. We might not see the reasoning until later down the road when we look back, then it all makes perfect sense.
