The goals I hope to meet in the near future are to be able to pay for my tuition in college by applying to scholarships and financial aid. Obtaining as much help as I can pay for my education is crucial to me because I know that college is expensive. My goal in a year from now is to be in university and majoring in chemistry or nursing. After finishing my bachelor’s, I plan to attend pharmacy school, then work my way up to earn my P.H.D of a pharmacist. Within the next 10 years, I also plan to open my own pharmacy and take a vacation to travel to other countries and cities that I have always wanted to visit; Florida, and Japan. In order for these dreams to become a reality, it will take an immense amount of hard work and dedication. The first step is to complete my short-term goals because those will be key to getting into and graduating from college. I plan to do this by not procrastinating, not giving up and not forgetting what my ultimate goal. I also will stay organized and keep up with my work so that I will not make things harder than they have to be.
Most importantly, I will be able to succeed if I study hard. Not just in high school but for college as well and even when I am out in the real world working. Once I begin my career and find stability only then I will be able to visit the places I have plan to go. I remember, the idea of being a pharmacist has always been in my mind. Growing up in Laos with a single mother, my mother always worked at the farm to support my family. Since we arrived in the United States in 2014, my mother started to work at multiple places such as at farms, or company so she has been encouraging me to study hard so I can support my family and have a good job in the future.
In order to be like her, I have to get a good education and start working to support my family the same as she did. I can recall once when I was younger when I went to the farm with my mother and coming across a rich person’s house. I continue to keep thinking big that I will study hard and get a good job, so one day I can be like them such as live happily and live without struggles about money and wondering where my food will come from. Getting to see how much rich kids they have and all the things that I never have, I realize how important it was to do what I love in life because, in the end, I want to be proud of what I have done. However, I want to be in the medical field meeting new people and helping others when they are in need.
