There are three branches of government. They were created to have a separation of powers so one group does not override the other and create a tyranny, or dictatorship. Each branch has their own responsibilities and limitations. By our government implementing these checks and balances within the branches, we can ensure our government is equal and here to serve us, rather than gain power.

The check and balance system is still an efficient form of government. Checks and balances are needed in this country! However, as time goes on there are tweaks that may need to be made to better fit the current time and situations. The processes used to amend our government and the checks and balances we use are needed and effective.

The three branches of government are legislative, executive, and judicial. The legislative branch makes laws, the executive branch executes laws, and the judicial law ensures the laws are constitutional. The legislative branch is arguably the most important! This is because the legislative holds many tasks such as declaring war, organizing the executive and judicial branch, and overriding a presidential veto. Without the legislative branch pursuing their responsibilities the other two branches would ultimately not have duties to act out in government.

The US government created the three branches in 1787. The branches of government were created to have a separation of powers so one group does not override the other and create a tyranny, or dictatorship. The legislative branch holds the executive branch accountable. The executive branch appoints a judge. The judicial branch makes sure the federal government does not become too powerful. By our government implementing these checks and balances within the branches we can ensure our government is equal and here to serve the people- not rule them!
