Bluest Eye Compare and Contrast Essay
On the other side, Claudia was proud of being black, even though society recognizes that beauty is similar to Shirley Temple, she did not had the thought of changing something from her body. Differences are also seen on both children’s parents. Piccolo’s father, Coolly, was a violent man. He abused her wife domestically in front of his children. He also raped her daughter and she had his baby. Piccolo’s mom rejected the family she had. Her marriage was slowly tearing apart because of Chows drunk keenness and violence.
When Pectoral got raped by her father, her mom did not believe her.
Claudia parents were strict. Her father was overprotective. For example, when Mr.. Henry touches Fried (Claudia older sister), her father throws a bicycle at him and tried to shot him. Claudia mom was a strict woman, but she cared about her family. She would not let her girls do anything bad, this way they would grow being women of good.
Even though Pectoral and Claudia had many differences, they also had similarities. One of these similarities is that they are black. Because of them being black, society constantly bombards them with comments about racism and color ideology.
People call them ugly for being black and these two girls wonder what makes white people so beautiful. Another similarity is that they are little girls. Since they are little girls they share the same ideology, even though one of the girls is a better taken care of child. They also come from poor families. Personally liked this novel. It presents a hard story that some black families lived then and maybe continue living. Think this novel shows us to persevere. Even though Pectoral was having a hard time in her life, she continued ahead. Sincerely I would recommend this novel to everyone.
