Everyone Chooses the Direction of Their Life

Table of Content

As a teenager, this is the beginning of your life. What you do today determines your whole future. There are no mom or dad to decide on your choices anymore. You have to make up your own mind on which school to go to and what kind of future you choose. You are literally on your own when it comes to making better choices.

The adults in your life may be there to guide you, but the critical life decisions are on your shoulders. Should you decide to consume too much alcohol, smoke, have unprotected sex, etc., you will have to face the consequences alone. Whatever choices one makes, they will reap the rewards. Smoking does cause cancer, and unprotected sex does lead to pregnancy or worse, sexually transmitted diseases.

Friends and dating are joyful times that teenagers face in their adolescent years in today’s time. Tension, stress, and depression affect everyone at one time or another in their life. A death in the family, arguing with and losing a friend, being bullied or teased, peer pressure to wear certain types of clothing or hairstyles, try tobacco, alcohol or drugs, are all factors that can create stress and may cause uncertainty and depression.

Teenagers are generally full of vitality and energy. This advantage allows them to conquer the world literally, experience new insights, gain wisdom, and acquire knowledge. Teenagers can also challenge themselves to practice extreme physical sports like mountain climbing. Often free from financial burdens, nothing pulls them back from pursuing academic excellence and various desires.

However, many teenagers misinterpret the meanings of life. They do not have individuality due to the lack of knowledge and wisdom to proceed with logical thinking. Some teenagers do not have their parents to guide them along this course of life. Therefore, these teenagers begin to assume that the teenage years are the worst years of their lives.

Some teenagers also feel apart from their peers because of their looks, grades, or a sense of injustice regarding their achievements. They may be tempted to see how far they can push the status quo.

It’s those years you’ll never forget, though you sometimes wish you could wipe them away. They seem to last forever, but when you look back, they went by so fast. Being a teenager is falling in love too fast and too hard, talking for hours on the phone to your best friends, being talked about and talking about others. It’s feeling guilty when you’re innocent, standing out, and fitting in. It’s having a million questions that will never be answered. Everyone has their tough times. Everyone goes through something, but being a teenager, that’s when you feel everything at once. When you’re in love, you’re really in love. When you hate someone, you despise them. When you’re lonely, you’re miserable. Being a teenager is something you always have to go through, and it’s the best and worst years of your life. Being a teenager isn’t anything – it’s everything. It isn’t a big deal – it’s a HUGE deal. And while you’re being a teenager, you ought to live it up because this is the one chance, the one time you’ll be young, free, and careless, as teenagers usually are.
