Kennedy’s accomplishments included increasing funding for education and public housing, as well as establishing the Peace Corps. He had a vision of the United States being the first nation to land on the moon, but unfortunately, he did not live long enough to witness this dream come true. Kennedy was born in Brooklyn, Massachusetts on May 29, 1917 and attended Harvard University before serving in the U.S Navy abroad. Upon returning home, he moved to Boston and started his political journey as a Democratic Congressman.

Kennedy garnered significant public backing when he entered the U.S Senate. At 36 years old, he wedded Jacqueline Bovier, who played a vital part in America’s evolution. They have two offspring together, Caroline and Jack Jr., but also endured the tragic death of another child just three days after birth. Within three years of their union, Kennedy took on the role of Vice President and eventually became both the youngest and sole Roman Catholic President of the United States of America. American history has witnessed four incidents of presidential assassinations.

President Lincoln and President Kennedy share a significant similarity – their assassination. Despite happening at different times, these events have many similarities. Reflecting on these tragic incidents, both presidents were assassinated on the same day and their killers were both murdered before facing trial. Moreover, both presidents strongly opposed slavery, resulting in a loss of support. Lincoln was elected president in 1860 while exactly 100 years later Kennedy took office in 1960. Remarkably, both Lincoln and Kennedy had vice presidents with the surname Williams. Additionally, both presidents experienced the heartbreaking loss of a son during their time in office.

Lincoln and Kennedy shared an interesting coincidence: their secretaries had each other’s names. What is even more intriguing is that these two men were assassinated on November 8th, exactly 100 years apart. Additionally, both of them were killed on a Friday, with gunshots aimed at the back of their heads in front of their wives. Lincoln was shot at the Ford theater and his assassin was later discovered in a warehouse. In contrast, Kennedy was shot while riding in a Ford Lincoln car, with his shooter firing from a warehouse and eventually being found in a theater. The actions of Kennedy have had a significant impact on today’s world.

He played a vital role in shaping the United States and bringing about significant changes during a critical time in history. His efforts were crucial in ending the segregation between black and white communities, concluding a war, and restoring peace within our nation. Moreover, he skillfully resolved a conflict with Russia, preventing a potential nuclear war by persuading them to withdraw their missiles and pursue peace. Throughout his administration, Kennedy inspired hope for both equal rights for Americans and global peace.

“Ask not what your country can do for you but what you can do for your country,” famously said Kennedy.
