My journey with Northrop Grumman started about 2 years ago, but, most people do not know I was part of a historical moment for Northrop. Roughly 5 years ago I worked in Patuxent River, MD supporting Triton as a Network Engineer for NAVAIR. At the time, I worked closely with Northrop Grumman engineers to prepare for first flight and delivery. Just like other major events in life, I can recall the moment I saw our hard work pay off. I was standing on a rooftop as the very first Triton UAV glided into view and landed perfectly. I stood in awe yet relieved because I was the midnight crew who supported for the flight.
A year later, the good times had to end and my entire family moved to Bahrain to support my husband and his Naval career. While living in Bahrain I worked on base at NAVCOMTELSTA Bahrain as a Network Engineer supporting the Navy’s One-Net Enterprise. While working and living in Bahrain was good, the highlight for me was traveling. I traveled to some really cool places in the UAE, Europe and parts of Asia. In 2017, we moved to California to see what is like to live on the West Coast and we are still adjusting. In October of the same year I started working for Northrop Grumman supporting Firebird, Firescout, and finally, SP1.
As a member of the MS IPT Hardware team I work on emerging technologies as well as take part in developing processes that will be shared across teams. Within this role, I gladly embrace all the challenges because I can see growth professionally and personally. As for hobbies, I enjoy golfing, sailing, and traveling to experience different cultures. I am foodie! So I mostly plan our trips around well-known restaurants seen on TV or highly recommended reviews. I am a veteran. I served 8 years in the Navy working on various communication technologies and crypto.
My best experience in the Navy was going out to sea on a carrier. My worst experience in the Navy was going out to sea on a carrier. However, I am proud Navy Sailor, thankful for every lesson, and honored to have served beside my shipmates. Hooyah! Lastly, and most importantly, I am mother 3 teenagers. I never have a dull moment and secretly enjoying every minute. The laughs are timeless as we prepare for our oldest to graduate High School and start her Naval Career. At this moment in time, I am enjoying life and looking forward to 2020 and years to come.
