Throughout your life you are bound to learn something new. Keeping the same principle in mind, I think learning is a never-ending process. As life passes by one always feels that one has a lot to learn, and this thought urges me to learn many more things in various fields. In my entire educational life until now, I have also been a good learner trying to go deep into each and every topic of my curriculum.
I hail from a family where education is not just about being erudite, but being taught to embody what we learn into practice. It has been instilled in my mind, right from childhood, to hound the subject that interests me and to give my cent percent to it. Thus, I have learned to give everything my best shot and then expect the results to follow. “Leave no stone unturned in thy quest for knowledge” is what motivates me.
Right from my school days, Science was a subject that always held my interest. The research and developments in this subject always fascinated me and this proclivity helped me pick up the science stream in junior college and further, pursue engineering for my undergraduate program. I completed my engineering from Pune University, particularly from Cummins College of Engineering with computer science as major.
Although the undergraduate program in Computer engineering was exhaustive one, with an excellent blend of theoretical and experimental work, I have always wanted to experience the practices and official work culture for software development on a commercial basis in an organization. I had a keen interest in subjects related to computer networking and data communication. I was always inquisitive to know how data flows from one point to another, how computer systems share data over a network and this was the genesis of my interest in topics like interconnectivity models in internet and intranet, internet protocols, routing algorithm, gateways.
Even as networks held my interest, I was absolutely besotted by Computer Operating systems, and that is when I decided to pursue a career in Unix. During last 8 years, I have worked with different clients like AT&T (US), Vodafone (Germany), Barclays (UK, US) on different technologies like UNIX, Dataware Housing, Business Objects, Sterling Connect Direct.
I was entrusted with responsibility of large-scale leading teams and gathering technological requirements from clients as well as implementation. I took on the challenge by providing the required support where necessary, which was noticed by management and eventually, resulted to lead team. I also received recognition award for my excellent contribution towards project. My carrier has thus developed from that of a software engineer to a professional capable of understanding both technical and business developments as well as leading technical teams to deliver outstanding projects.
I value education amongst myriad things as I am of the opinion that a strong foundation will lay the basis for a bright career for me. Thus, even after having worked for different IT companies, I have decided to give my desire to complete the MBA greater emphasis over my job. I have therefore chosen to further the path of higher education, which will help me grow and establish myself as a successful professional in the business world. Therefore, I decided further study in MBA with specialization in IT program from Westcliff University which would help me in developing my career potential and providing me with greater opportunities for future success. Apart from studying, I also firmly believe that University life would give me the opportunity to communicate with other students as well as teachers coming from different culture backgrounds.
A good graduate program is an imperative step towards realizing my professional ambition of becoming a competent player in the IT field and it will help me give back to society more than what I have received. I possess the motivation, intellectual ability and preparation to do justice to a demanding graduate program. I am aware that Westcliff University expects very high standards from its students.
