Global warming refers to the gradual increase in the Earth’s average surface temperature. The main component of global warming is the increased emission of greenhouse gases. Greenhouse gases trap heat in the atmosphere and cause the Earth’s average temperature to rise. The main greenhouse gases are water vapor, carbon dioxide, methane, and nitrous oxide. Human activities, such as the burning of fossil fuels and deforestation, are the main cause of increased greenhouse gas emissions.
Global warming is causing the Earth’s climate to change. Climate change refers to long-term changes in temperature, precipitation, sea level, and other aspects of the Earth’s climate. Climate change is already having an impact on the Earth, such as more frequent and more intense hurricanes, floods, and droughts. If global warming is not stopped now by reducing greenhouse gas emissions and protecting forests from deforestation by reducing deforestation then it will lead to many more severe consequences such as rising sea levels which may destroy coastal cities around the world so it would be wise for us to take action now before it’s too late!
