Permanence, perseverance and persistence in spite of all obstacles, discouragements, and impossibilities: It is this, that in all things distinguishes the strong soul from the weak. I, Sharanya Bhaskar, am a testament to this adage and it is this grit that made me pursue my Masters.
The drive to pursue my higher education in your prestigious University is because of its distinguished and renowned reputation together with the availability of valuable scholarly resources.
My highest source of inspiration is my family. My parents’ continued support and guidance made me the person I am now. Having a background of Administration and Management, my father inspired me to be organized and duty-bound in life. A teacher by profession, my mother has always inspired and motivated me to become engrossed in learning. This was where the horizons of my interest and inspiration met and thus evolved into my furtherance.
The lionized stream of Engineering satisfied my need as well as want, paving my path to great heights of success. The cornerstone was laid by the city’s stellar school D.A.V. I graduated in ELECTRONICS AND COMMUNICATION ENGINEERING from yet another pillar of support, SRM Easwari engineering college, Chennai. I am grateful to the efficient faculty and infrastructure provided by my alma mater.
The eminence of ascendancy lies in consistency. During my second year of college I participated in an Analog Design Contest held by Texas Instrument and submitted a project titled “AUTOMATED GUIDE AND INFORMATION SYSTEM (AGIS)”. A remote like device which was used to guide blind people inside a museum. Ensuing this, I went on to attend several workshops held by other colleges, a two-day workshop on “Embedded System Design- From Ideal to Product” held by Texas Instruments (TI) and a workshop on “Robo Gravity-Touch”. I was more inclined to the coding and programming part of the projects and workshops I attended and that was when I found my interest in software.
During my final year project I was sure to efficaciously take part in the software segment. My project was based on a real time scenario that was happening in India back in 2013 titled “A SEMI-AUTOMATED & SAFE PUBLIC TRANSPORT SYSTEM” using ZigBee transceiver and sensors. Three main topics were covered in my project – limiting of passengers in a bus, RFID tag for tickets instead of paper printed tickets and autonomous door concept to eradicate the footboarding practice.
Post my undergraduation, I went on to work as an Infrastructure Management Engineer (IMS) for two years in a reputed company, Mindtree Limited. Being my first job, it was here where I gained proficiency in mastering the basics of Database, Network, Windows and Linux. My job required me to troubleshoot issues related to network, solve database and linux oriented services for our clients outside the country. My career elevated when I started working for TechnipFMC Limited as a Junior Systems Administrator in the Information Technology (IT) department. I was responsible for the internal user support, solving any hardware and software related issues. Three years in Technip, supported me to accomplish a solid base for my future careers.
I have always weighed work and leisure almost equally. I have a deep interest in cultural activities. I have represented my college in many competitions and won accolades. I was an active member of IEEE and Rotaract Club in my college during the year 2010-2013, as a team we provided service to our society by contributing to the Child Trust Centre.
