The UCMJ Article 92 is failure to obey a lawful order and or orders. In this essay we will be going over the importance of this article. We will also look at what it means to follow this article. Why it is one of our most important articles. What makes an order lawful and what makes an order unlawful. We will start with the violation and/or failure to obey a lawful order given by someone in a higher rank than yourself.

The violation and/or failure to obey a lawful order given by someone in a higher rank than yourself is the violation of article 92 of the UCMJ. Orders are given for a reason whether you agree or disagree with them. No matter what you are doing you need to stop and take care of the order that has been given to you by someone who is higher ranking than you. Some orders can be given just to make you keep your military bearing like someone telling you, to stop talking, or stand at attention. These orders can help you and keep you from digging yourself a deeper hole. Then you have already made for yourself. As an E-3 and below you do not have the right to question an order given to you if it does not and cannot harm you. You don’t have any reason to question or say what order is important or unimportant. Like I said before orders are given for a reason, and its not to be questioned.

This article is a very important article in the UCMJ. This article can protect and save lives. By following all orders given by the people above you, you can prevent injury and/or loss of life. The smallest order can make the biggest difference in any situation. If you were to be manned up on a fifty cal  machine gun in battle and the guy loading your gun doesn’t follow the orders given to him on loading you gun while your fighting. You could just very well end up losing your life and possibly some others with you. These article’s of the UCMJ are ment to keep us safe and protect us. Its just like when we were in boot camp and marching in step. While your marching in step.
