From seven to seventy, each of us use internet whether for entertaining ourselves, for shopping, or just to research about any topic. And sometimes internet can be distractive, but it is up to a person to let the internet to distract us. If a person simply limits himself/herself to use the internet, there would be no problem. Take a person who loves learning new things, and spending most of his/her time searching about some information that he/she needs, free access to the internet will simply make things better for him/her, rather than being a distraction.
As you all know we are facing with a pandemic called “coronavirus”, and therefore, we all need to stay home. But some things need to go on, for example; there are some people that need to keep working in order to feed his/her family even in these pandemic times, but one of the most important things that needs to go on in this pandemic time, is probably the education. But for the internet we wouldn’t be able to continue our education, thanks to the internet we can still continue our education at home. And thanks to the internet we can get even better education, and as i mentioned above we can get online education right now. Also, ‘Internet access provides great opportunities for education policymakers to improve the quality of education for individual learners and contribute to national economic and social welfare.
You could use the internet simply to learn a new language, to me it is even better to learn a language at home by yourself than to just going out the language courses. You can use for example, YouTube to just learn a language, or you can listen podcast on Spotify in your target language, by many ways like this internet is a great medium to just improve yourself. Besides, there are lots of information on the internet and you can probably find whatever you are looking for. Nevertheless, not all the information on the internet is reliable; there can be user’s comments, and given information might not be correct. You simply shouldn’t be sticking on one site, on the contrary, you are supposed to be searching not only on the internet but also on the other resources such as; encyclopaedia. But of course, you can find enough and reliable information on the internet, if you just know how to use it effectively.
For example: if you know more than one language, internet becomes better medium for you; you can search in different languages that you know and just by doing that, you will not be sticking on only one resource rather, you will be coming across various findings and that will simply make your findings comparable to each other, and that way you will have lots of information about the topic that you are searching for. So, to sum up, internet is useful in many ways, it is just up to a person whether to use it for gaining knowledge or just using the internet for surfing on it or using the internet only to play games, it is just up to how you use it effectively. Internet’s being free to access doesn’t necessarily mean it will harm student’s ability to study, on the contrary, it should motivate students or the other persons to use it effectively.
