Hollywood, Florida. This event was a live acoustic and soul music performance in the north stage are inside the Yellow Green Farmer’s Market. The performer known as Eddy Balzola played acoustic soul music as well as acoustic latin music. The music I heard was nothing original by Eddy Balzola. The music he played would be an upbeat song or instrumental. He also played very soothing music that makes you feel relaxed. My overall impression of his choosing would be a wonderful choice because he kept his small audience entertained and calm. I enjoyed listening to his performance and would love to do it again.
I personally enjoyed all his music choices but I’d have to say my overall favorite would be the song he played by Miles Davis. It was a instrumental version of his song and Eddy Balzola actually made the same sound of a trumpet but using his voice to do it which I found fascinating. The performer Eddy Balzola was very well prepared to perform but due to an incident that happened to one of the audience members he had to pause his performance. Eddy couldn’t resume his performance until the elder lady was inside the ambulance truck and was taken care of. Overall he was well prepared for his performance.
The performer Eddy Balzola had complete command over his instrument and voice throughout his entire performance. He was performing by himself on the north stage so he choose which songs and types of music he performed. Some of the pieces seemed pretty simple to play because it was the same rhythm throughout the entire song. Out of all the song he performed I believe the Miles Davis instrumental song seemed the most difficult since he used his voice to make a similar sound to the trumpet. The performer Eddy Balzola communicated with me through his music performance. The songs he picked were perfect because it made me get up and dance. His music also made me close my eyes and imagine a relaxing place because some of the music he chose were soothing. He played his guitar with such passion and you can see his love for music with the amount of effort he put into his performance.
Surprisingly I somehow was able to figure out the form of some of the pieces the performer Eddy Balzola played which were duple and AABA form. The acoustics were okay due to the setting of the place which was a farmer’s market which was pretty big and he only had one speaker and one microphone to use throughout his performance. There were only seats in the booths were food was being sold so in order to hear Eddy Balzola performance you have to sit in a booth with seats near by. I was lucky enough to sit right in front of his performance area. The kind of attendance throughout the performance was empty due to it being held at a farmer’s market so majority of the audience was walking around and shopping rather than paying attention to the performance being held. The audience enjoyed the performance including staff members near the north stage. They even got up to dance to the acoustic latin music Eddy Balzola played.
