Since I was young, I have been passionate about medicine and determined to become a doctor. Throughout my life, I have deeply immersed myself in the medical field because of my fascination with the complexities of the human body. Through independent study, I have delved into various topics related to human health. One experience that had a profound impact on me was visiting a sonographer’s office and being greatly inspired by their passion.
The sonographer identified a congenital anatomical abnormality, resulting in the doctor suggesting additional evaluation. Ultimately, surgery was deemed essential. The committed individuals at this healthcare facility have a vital role in saving lives. This particular sonographer served as an inspiration and influenced my choice to pursue a career as an imaging technologist. My passion for medicine is what drives me to become a medical imaging technologist.
I often wonder why I specifically chose sonography when considering the wide field of medicine. It is my inspiring and motivating childhood experience that reaffirms my desire to become a medical imaging technologist. My frequent encounters with pregnancies and regular visits to OBGYN offices have further propelled me towards the sonography field. These experiences have predisposed me to choose sonography as my career path. It’s important to note that sonography encompasses more than just identifying anomalies in babies; it also plays a crucial role in early cancer detection. Whenever I go for ultrasound checkups, I am amazed by the efficiency of the technologists who diligently work to identify anomalies, capture images, analyze them, and provide utmost care to patients. To me, these technologists resemble investigators or medical detectives.
When selecting a profession, I took into account the prospects for advancement and potential within the field. As an investigator in sonography, I am enthusiastic about uncovering and diagnosing ailments and illnesses. Additionally, my management degree will prove advantageous in my career as a medical imaging technician. Though operating ultrasound machines is vital in this domain, providing patient care and effectively communicating with fellow professionals and patients are equally essential. I am eager to continue delving into the realm of sonography.
