His parents are musicians. His mother is Lyla Novacek (Keri Russel) which is a concert cellist, and his father is Louis Connelly (Jonathan Rhys Meyers), a guitarist and a lead singer of a rock band.
Lyla didn’t know that his child is alive because he got an accident when she gives birth to his son. We can say that his special skill in music is come from hereditary traits which are under nature development and he polished his skill by the help of his environment or the nurture development in psychology.
He went to church because he escapes from the hands of Wizard. He also easily learned on how to play piano when he was in the church and the priest impress with his talent. They decided to enroll him in a Juilliard School because of his natural talent. He also learned on how to write a musical composition, and his composition was chosen to perform in a concert. He didn’t know that her mother also chosen to perform. In the night of the concert Evan arrived late because he was caught again by wizard but he runs away by the help of his friend.
After her mother’s performance he finally performs in the front of thousands of people. Evan conducts his piece, and at its conclusion, he turns around to see Lyla and Louis standing hand in hand, and he finally makes the connection that they are his parents. This movie is the best explanation on how heredity is present in every individual. Evan or August Rush is an example on how a hereditary trait was transmitted in our life. He inherited his special musical talent to his parents because his parents are also good in music.
