What are the five steps used to solve an environmental problem? Solving environmental problems is a very important topic that should concern the entire world. I try to do my part in minimizing my ecological footprint. Living in a highly developed county, we are responsible for plenty of the damage done on Earth. In order to solve an environmental problem various steps need to be followed. The first step in solving an environmental problem is to define the problem and construct a hypothesis.
Scientists then define owe the problem developed and the future of the problem. Then the effect of problem is then analyzed. This is referred to as the risk analysis. The public is then informed of the damage in hope of gaining support and changing attitudes. Elected officials then constitute a course of action. Then the results are closely examined in order to determine if the course of action is yielding prominent results. 2. What is Environmental science and what are some of the disciplines involved with the science?
Environmental science combines many fields. Some of the fields included are biology, geography, chemistry, geology, physics, agriculture, law, politics, and ethics. 3. What is food insecurity? Food insecurity is serious condition in which people live with “chronic hunger. ” These conditions cause dangerous malnutrition. 4. How is stabilizing climate related to energy use? The enhanced green house effect is a human induced problem that is affecting our Earth. People all over the world are increasing the levels of CO n our atmosphere.
CO is produced when we burn fossil fuels. The burning of these fuels IS causing the climate on the Earth to change. The global temperature has increased about 1 degree. Scientists believe the climate will continue to change. Because the climate is getting warmer, we look for ways to maintain the same conditions our bodies are used to. Even though one degree may seem insignificant, humans are using more fossil fuels in order to obtain a comforTABLE climate. Stabilizing the climate will lead to a stop in this yoke.
If we look for alternative renewTABLE energy, such as wind, water, and solar energy, we will decrease the levels of CO being deposited into our atmosphere. 5. What are two serious problems in urban environments? In urban environments, pollution is a serious threat. Pollution from traffic penetrates the air, soil, and water. Urban cities need to constitute an environmentally friendly method of transportation. Another issue urban environments face is water scarcity. Large cities need to adapt a method that will recycle water.
