Cain and Abel came from the first ever couple in the life of human from according to the Bible. Cain was the tiller of the ground, and Abel was the keeper of sheep. The two brothers both brought a sacrifice to the Lord. The Lord accepted Abel’s gift with respect. But the Lord had no respect for the gift of fruit from Cain and had no respect for Cain, or the gift. Cain was very upset with this and didn’t understand why. The Lord said to Cain, “Why art thou wroth? And why is thy countenance fallen?
If thou doesn’t well, shalt thou not be accepted? And if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him. ” After all of this occurred Cain and Abel were in the field talking and Cain took it upon himself to kill his brother. Cain came back from the land and the Lord asked him where his brother had gone. The Lord told Cain that his brother’s blood cried for him from the land. Cain’s sin was deep and he had to live with it for the rest of his life.
Today, a good example of Cain and Abel would be two brothers with the parents that show favoritism to one child over the other. Tom is the older brother and Tim is the younger brother, except mom and dad like Tom because he never gets into any trouble and always does what he is supposed to do in school. Tim on the other hand is always getting into trouble at home, school and basically anywhere he goes he does something wrong. Tim gets jealous of Tom and decides to kill his brother. After the trial Tim’s parents never went and contacted him or tried to.
I think the point of this lesson is not to be jealous of your brother, friend or even any human being for any reason. It doesn’t matter if the other person has more wealth, a better looking wife or a nicer looking car. When we take someone’s life we are taking someone else’s loved one, which we have no right to do. Therefore, I think God letting Cain live was a punishment for he had to live knowing what he did to his brother. To kill from jealousy isn’t killing for any right reason at all. Going to war for your country could be a just killing, but jealousy is a very evil feeling nd isn’t justified at all.
The Lord does what he does for a very good reason, and us, the human life, are at no point to ever judge what the Lord has done or will ever do. Our jealous rages are not to be overlooked. Tim sat in jail for the rest of his life knowing that he killed his own flesh and blood, and also knowing that his parents, the ones who created him, want absolutely nothing to do with him. The feeling of not being wanted probably makes someone live in a very unhappy way. To live unhappy would not be a fun way to live all.
