Dear Animal Abusers,
Every single living thing deserves rights and deserves to be treated with respect. No matter what the living thing may be. Humans have placed themselves at the top, disregarding the wellbeing of any other animals, that are not human. If the things that happen to other animals, were happening to humans, the conflict would be a lot more important to society.
Animals should not be tortured, for the wellbeing of humans. From the meat processing industry, to animal testing, the horrifying reality for innocent creatures never ends. Beginning with the meat processing industry’s inhumanity…
If humans are going to slaughter millions of animals nonstop, they could at least show them empathy and be at least somewhat humane. In ancient times humans had to physically hunt animals for food and clothing, but now that just isn’t a reality. If you want steak for dinner, you just go to the grocery store and pick one out. Humans could still have the meat they desperately need so badly, but does it have to be gotten in such a cruel way? Do the animals have to be mistreated so badly and inhumanely? It doesn’t seem fair. They don’t have any control over their lives, it is in humanities hands, and they choose to abuse with their power. We shouldn’t slaughter creatures and fill them with synthetic compounds just to fulfill our selfish needs.
Animal rights activists know the cruelty of how animals on factory farms are being treated as mere products that are being prepared to be bought by human consumers. It is really difficult to get justice in a legal system where law was created to protect rights of humans and their business interests and not the welfare of animals. Animal rights activists strive to reveal to Americans the true nature of factory farms and the treatment of animals, with the hope of forcing policy change. Unfortunately, as a result of America’s political and economic structure, activists have a very small range of strategies to be a voice for animals. Recently, newly enacted legislation continues to restrain the efforts of animal rights organizations, activists also risk criminal prosecution for their efforts on behalf of animals that are suffering.
Addressing the other side of the horror story, animals shouldn’t have products tested on them. The beauty industry is there to make everyone look beautiful, but the evil truth is disturbingly ugly. Throughout the world, hundreds of thousands of animals endure unnecessary suffering and eventually die from animal testing for cosmetics annually.
To put yourself in the shoes of what an animal endures, envision outsiders constraining obscure substances on your eyes, recording your agony and in the long run executing you. The terrible torment and psychological mistreatment. For example, the eye tests that are done of rabbits in product testing facilities. An innocent creature endures having soap, toothpaste, hair products, lipstick, or even gardening chemicals. Did you know that numerous rabbits attempt to break their necks to stop the horrendous agony? How can this mistreatment be legal? How can anyone allow this to happen legally?
Humane Society International says, ‘cosmetic animal testing is still legal in 80% of the world and an estimated 300,000 animals die each year in cosmetic animal tests in China alone.” These tests cause so much pain and suffering and there is no relief for these animals. The only time that these animals are relieved of their torture is when they die.
Animal testing for cosmetics is an unreliable practice because it does not provide accurate results regarding the safety, performance, or possible reactions that some cosmetic products or ingredients could have on a human. There are currently works in the cosmetic world for alternative testing methods and not only can these alternative testing methods be more affordable for companies to use, they have much more accurate results than the results of animal testing. Some of these alternative methods are “artificial tissue testing” and “test tube testing” which are safe and ready to be used by companies.
The best alternative seems to be the artificial tissue testing, which is grown in a laboratory and has proved to provide better results on how likely a reaction could occur on human skin compared to the results of traditional animal testing. The other method is the use of test tube testing, which stops the possibility of animals being poisoned in order to differentiate toxic from non-toxic cosmetic ingredients. Test tube testing is not the best alternative, but it is still much better than the current animal testing that is being used by most cosmetic companies.
Consumers also need to take action on the situation, we need to protest to companies that cosmetics can no longer tested on animals and we need to support brands that are strongly against animal testing. If you have found that your favorite cosmetic brand is using animals to test their products, find a way to contact them and explain that you will no longer be purchasing from them until they have changed their animal testing policy. Consumers should be supporting organizations that are working to end animal testing for cosmetics. There is currently a global campaign called #BeCrueltyFree, which was started by Humane Society International, which is the largest campaign in history that works towards ending animal testing for cosmetics. Cruelty-Free International and the Coalition for Consumer Information on Cosmetics (CCIC) are organizations that also work against animal testing and are also behind the Leaping Bunny program, which provides global cruelty-free certification to brands by making them go through a rigid certification process.
There are numerous approaches to abstain from purchasing items made utilizing animal suffering on the web. There is no good reason for the millions of animals that are still suffering for our wellbeing, there is no excuse. All animals should be treated equally and given a chance in the life that they are given.
