Detailed answer:

Why Does Poseidon Hate Odysseus?

It is not clear exactly why Poseidon hates Odysseus, but there are many theories. One possible explanation is that Poseidon is simply jealous of the human race, and he takes it out on the most notable example of humanity: Odysseus. The Greek god of the sea is often depicted as being very angry and violent, so it’s not surprising that he would have a lot of resentment towards humans. Another possible explanation is that Poseidon had a great love for a mortal woman named Amphitrite, but she left him for another man. This made him very jealous and angry.

A third possibility is that Odysseus once blinded one of Poseidon’s sons—the Cyclops Polyphemus—which might have made the god angry at him for this act of violence against his offspring. Some say that Poseidon’s anger towards Odysseus is because he was the one who released the Kraken from its prison; others claim that he just doesn’t like humans in general and views Odysseus as an example of why they shouldn’t exist at all!
