African Americans take pride in their heritage seriously and when someone disrespects their heritage, they get angry. Some eople think that nigger does not hurt African American heritage and those people are wrong because it does. Racial slur make an ethic group think that they are being disrespected. That is why when a certain racial slur is said to a certain racial group the people are mad and frustrated. A bad old memory brings back a person’s anger and frustration they had a long time ago. Slavery was a period when African Americans were captured from Africa and brought to America to become slaves. Slavery was hard on African Americans because they had no freedom and life was just horrible. African Americans do not like to be remember slavery and when nigger is said it brings them the taught of slavery. Racial words insult ethnic groups and it reminds them of what the majority group did to them in the past. Racial slurs remind minorities like Asian Americans of their struggles and their civil rights movement.
