If we look at the definition of each term, we can see how they differ. Role: the function assumed or part played by a person in a particular situation. Responsibilities: a thing which one is required to do as part of a job, role or legal obligation. Boundaries: A limit of something abstract, especially a subject or sphere of activity. The teacher/training cycle helps identify any special needs, preferred learning styles, learners motivations, learners previous educational experiences and the organisations needs which will help me with my learners. .
Identify Needs – This focuses on finding the needs of the learners, preparing a scheme of work and lesson plans to deliver group or individual learning based upon the needs of the learners. As a Maths GCSE teacher, an interview and assessment prior to acceptance on the course allows me to identify the learner needs. 2. Plan and Design – It is my responsibility to plan the course, which in turn meets the needs of the learners and fulfils the requirements of the course.
I would be responsible for preparing the classroom and delivering the course to learners and I would need to ensure that the learning outcomes, aims and objectives for the course are covered in an appropriate way. I would do this by allocating enough time to different topics; some topics are more difficult than others and so would require more time. 3. Deliver – This requires me to teach and deliver the course in a suitable manner, ensuring I remain professional at all times and my learners are engaged.
The resources I provide should be well prepared, sufficient for the number of learners and used to support the learning activities. I would do PowerPoint presentations and ensure all students are given a copy of the notes. Learners would be told at the start of each session what the lesson objectives are and how these relate to the overall course outcomes.
