Outside of our private home, all around, starting in August and year after year, signs with messages displaying flu shot information are almost everywhere we turn. Children, healthcare workers, and immune-deficient men, women, and children are urged to be immunized. An article released on September 27, 2013, on Government News Networks talks about Governor Pat Quinn rolling up his sleeve and setting a perfect example in Illinois of how everyone should get vaccinated for the flu this year to protect our loved ones as well.
The article introduces the reader to a new campaign called “[email protected].” This campaign, supported by Walgreens and the United Nations Foundation, educates, connects, and empowers Americans to help protect children in developing countries from vaccine-preventable diseases. It encourages people to get a flu shot and save a child’s life. The article also reports that the CDC estimates 200,000 people are hospitalized in the United States each year, with potentially tens of thousands of flu-associated deaths annually. Additionally, the Illinois Department of Public Health recommends that every child six months of age and older be vaccinated for influenza every year. The article goes on to list the symptoms people may feel once they encounter the flu versus the symptoms they feel after flu vaccination.
I agree that doctors should make a recommendation on whether a child should be injected with a flu vaccine, but the final decision should be left to the parent. Being a parent myself, I think that no one can force a flu shot on my child and override my legal authority to determine what is best for her. If a parent knows their child is well-fed, if their hands were washed before dinner, or what time they go to bed to be well-rested for the next day, there is no need for a flu shot that contains harmful chemicals. Not to mention our freedom of religion. My understanding is that anyone can practice their own religion and have the freedom to their own thoughts. If someone’s religious reasons include not wanting to receive a vaccination because their beliefs forbid invasions of the body or don’t allow animals to be hurt in the making or testing of a vaccine, then why should someone be authorized to change that? Pushing and ordering someone to be vaccinated without giving them the right to choose is wrong and should be stopped.
What angers me the most is the media, the press, and the medical facilities focusing on advertising the flu vaccine so much, but they neglect to educate us about the formulation of the vaccine itself or the possible side effects children might have. They tell us about the benefits, but there is also another side to the story that seems to be kept quiet. We should know what is going into our bodies. We are responsible for the protection of our children. Sometimes we have to take actions into our own hands and make the best decision. Read the vaccine insert, understand what makes up the vaccine, and then come to our own conclusions.
How is it that they offer the flu vaccine at the airport, local drug stores, grocery store pharmacies, and many other places where they do not have your medical records? Are the doctors telling pregnant women that their unborn child may be at risk? Are they telling moms that the vaccine may also contain Thimerosal, which can potentially harm the developing brain of the unborn child and be dangerous for the mother too? What happens if the Thimerosal passes into the breast milk of nursing babies? Another huge problem is that all major hospitals and medical facilities now require that all employees get the flu shot or get fired from their jobs! Imagine working as a nurse for 25 years only to be told that you no longer have the right to choose what drug you must take to keep your job. This is a direct violation of personal rights and overrides many state laws that give people the right to choose. What about freedom of religion? It will not stop there…soon it will be the DPT (diphtheria, pertussis, and tetanus) vaccine because of the pertussis outbreaks across the country. What vaccine will it be next, the cancer or AIDS vaccine? I am encouraging nurses and doctors to unite and fight these unlawful mandates. Perhaps when we have numerous lawsuits in the courts, they will stop acting like the medical mafia. You now must decide who you are going to trust for your information and healthcare recommendations. I encourage all people to thoroughly investigate all medications and vaccines before they agree to inject them. I know it can be very confusing as conflicting information is everywhere. Ultimately, it is your right to choose what your family does.
It is common knowledge that flu vaccines have always had the potential to cause serious side effects. Each year, pharmaceutical companies release new flu shots that are virtually untested. They combine various flu virus strains based on an educated guess and then recommend the shot to everyone, including children and pregnant mothers. Religious reasons include not wanting to receive a vaccination because some faiths have tenets that prohibit invasions of the body or that disallow animals from being harmed in the making of the vaccine.
I strongly oppose the flu shot for any age, and no, I will most definitely not be getting one. There is too much evidence supporting its adverse effects and dangers. Getting the flu once in a while is part of being human. It happens, always did, and always will. Why isn’t the focus shifted toward natural prevention, such as a healthy diet and active lifestyle with lots of vitamins, namely Vitamin D?
Many of these flu vaccinations are multi-dose and still use Thimerosol. This article doesn’t address two things. Number one, what impact on flu numbers is vaccination having? Number two, while scheduled childhood vaccination can explain drops in certain childhood illnesses, what are the long-term effects of annually injecting a known neurotoxin and carcinogen for years directly into the blood, especially starting since childhood? The second can’t be answered because there are no long-term studies. Anything you put in your body that’s not food is a poison, and children are more susceptible than adults because their bodies are still growing and developing. I am not anti-vaccination, just anti-ignorance. Unnecessarily injecting healthy kids yearly with known potent toxins is just stupid. We should all be alarmed at this statistic.
Compounding this is the fact that almost no medical follow-up exists for people who get the vaccines. How do we know how many got sick anyway? If they didn’t get sick, how do we know why? You can’t assume the vaccine was responsible. Many people get other illnesses that we assume are the flu, but aren’t. They get a flu shot and don’t get sick. The reports are not showing you all the BIG picture. I am one of many who have taken the flu shot and the flu vaccine. It turned on my system, and I ended up in the hospital for a few weeks. I could not walk, and I lost so much of my life to that flu shot that I will never ever get back. So, I was told I had MS, and for 9 years, I lived with that. The time was up for my next visit to the MS Dr., and that is when I was told it had been the flu shot. The very same words that I used on my admission to the hospital….Please think twice. Diana. I work in healthcare, and I will NOT be getting the flu shot. I had the flu twice in twenty years. The both years I had the flu shot is when I got the flu.
People make me feel stupid and irresponsible because I refuse to get the H1N1 shot. I can’t take the risk of being infected by taking the shot. I feel like I have a better chance of surviving H1N1 if I come into human contact rather than having it injected into my body. I feel that medical institutions, with the media’s aid, are purposely forcing a one-sided view on this very dynamic topic. I have not had the opportunity to see valid reports on this subject from institutions that are not funded by pharmaceutical companies or by our government! Just take a look on the web; it is swamped with pro-vaccination sites that are directly or indirectly associated and funded by the government and by the pharmaceutical industry. I believe it is a numbers game. Like with polio, if you vaccinate 10% of the population, it fails to get around and eventually becomes extinct. I am no specialist, but I am sure that if the people who have no qualms about it get the flu shots, I’m sure less of it will get around to bother the people who don’t want the shot. There never is any guarantee, but we can still try to do our best to prevent illness and deaths.
It is good to read and see that others are feeling the same way I do about getting the flu vaccine. I have always been taught that there is no cure or medication for a virus, yet we are supposed” to get the flu vaccine for a virus. What are our rights? Do we not have any anymore? I thought this was a free country. Why have we fought for freedom in this country all these years, only to still not have our freedom of choice? I feel that with each passing day, more and more of our freedom is being taken away. It’s humiliating to wear a mask at work, and I also have allergies and asthma, which makes it hard to breathe while wearing a mask. Why will they not sign a paper for us, which promises that we will not get sick after this vaccine, nor will it weaken our immune system to pick up everything else? (Even if they did or do, they are in denial.) Please let me know what my rights are in declining the vaccine. Do I really have to wear this mask? Isn’t it against HIPAA to single us out? Many received the vaccine because they felt pressured into doing so and are not happy about it at all.
