List of Equipment * Load Cell * Cutter * Refiner * Stamping Machine * Amalgamator Mixer Conveyor Belt * Chiller * Plodder * Cartoning Machine c. Brief Description of the Process 1. Checking of Raw Material and Packaging Materials Raw materials are primarily stored in the warehouse and chemical storage area, where the procedures for each product as well as the specifications of orders are also kept.
2. Compounding This process is the start of the real processing, where all the ingredients are mixed well for homogenization. 3. Refiner In the first stage soap is compressed, refined and supplied to the vacuum chamber in shape of noodles or pellets. . Duplex Plodder The modern soap making uses a duplex plodder for the final refining, compacting & air free extrusion of a continuous bar. The plodder (extrusion machine) is a crucial piece of equipment in the entire soap plant. It plays a major role and gives a final shape in bar form to soap mass. 5. Cutter Cutting blades have a unique design that will eliminate slippage and uneven cuts. 6. Stamping Machine In this machine the desired shape and size including the brand name of the soap is made through stamping action of the machine. 7. Packaging
Involves Pillow Pack Machine (Automatic), Cartoning Machine, Shrink Packaging Process 8. Palletizing The packaged product is then fed through the palletizer that will automatically stack cases of goods or products on to a pallet. VII. Pollution Control The company is accredited and has certification from DENR and other government organization. Moreover, their wastewater is treated by a third company under splash which is why no further details were given to us. VIII. Safety Management Inside the plant, they employed designated lanes for walking and for forklifts, etc.
Also they strictly impose everything and everyone entering the manufacturing facility proper clean so they require guests to wear head covers, laboratory gown and foot rags. IX. Observation The manufacturing process was explained to us but not detailed since the tour guide is an industrial engineer. It is good that they employ cleanliness in their production facility in every aspect. Their guards are strict in terms of security. They are very accommodating since they let us see and touch the equipment including what is inside. X. Comments and Recommendation
We can commend the company for being accommodating however, the tour was a bit confusing for the students. It was as if we are discussing a manufacturing process of a product in one room then when we left the room, we are discussing the process for another product. XI. Pictures The splash corporatio Outside the plant there is a safety precaution to not smoke inside the workplace With our tour guide Engr. Wong Opening Remark Students, Faculty members, Ladies and Gentlemen, I am deeply honored to extend to you all a very warm welcome on behalf of the organizers of this seminar and to say how grateful we are to Engr.
Voltaire L. Acosta who have accepted our invitation to convene this Seminar on waste analysis and characterization and design and operation of integrated solid waste management facilites. It is gratifying to note that the agenda of the Seminar covers a wide range of very interesting items relating to solid waste management and especially those directly related to its design and operation. No matter how much we can do by ourselves, whether it be research or development, it is never enough. In a spirit of true cooperation, we the must join in an action-oriented effort to create awareness and to be more immersed in knowledge.
To the third year students who are about to learn the importance of waste analysis and the design and operation of waste management. To the fourth year students who are currently taking up their environmental engineering subject and to the fifth year students who will be discovering and implementing the theories and methodologies that they have acquired. We are hoping that this seminar will be of great help. In concluding, I wish you will benefit greatly in this event and enjoy the entirety of this seminar. Thank you and good day
