My passion and love of English, children, and teaching, coupled with my excellent communication skills, fuels my desire to become an Assistant Language Teacher (ALT) in Japan. Since an early age, I have considered the teaching profession as a career choice. I also love traveling, and I find nothing more rewarding than helping students learn new concepts and ideas. To this point in my life, I’ve enjoyed success in many areas and endeavors. Now, I’m eager and excited to pursue teaching in the fascinating country of Japan.
I’m intrigued by Japan’s people and its culture, and I am quite sure that I will fit in well there, both professionally and personally. Throughout my formative years, I believe I’ve developed a sense of empathy and compassion that is necessary for a good teacher to be great. Knowing the fundamentals of English is not enough; I try to put myself in my student’s place so that I can tailor my lessons to each student’s individual strengths and desires. I’ve always strived to lead a diverse, challenging and stimulating life, and teaching English in Japan would meet all those goals. I know teaching is not easy, and I’m prepared to work hard so that I can present well-organized, informative and engaging lessons.
As clear and strong as my desire is, I am realistic enough to realize that teaching English in Japan will be challenging. But, I believe my ability to adapt will serve me well and allow me to succeed. Japan’s vibrant culture and fascinating people intrigue me, and I cannot wait to get there. If I am granted the exciting opportunity to teach English in Japan, I will display the work ethic and sense of determination that I know is necessary for success. I am extremely confident that my combination of love for teaching, fundamental knowledge of English, well-rounded skill set and the passion to help others will allow me to excel. I yearn the rewarding feeling that comes from helping students, and teaching offers that opportunity daily. I truly believe that teaching English in Japan will be a great fit for me, and it will meet so many of my professional and personal aspirations.
