The definition that The American Heritage® Dictionary of the English Language gives for the modern usage of romance is “A love affair containing ardent emotional attachment or involvement between people. ” Romance is a particularly hard word to describe when brought up on the spot.

When one thinks of romance, they usually think of times in their life that it has to do with such as their first kiss and how they lead up to it, that special Christmas eve when they spent the day with that significant other and gave his or her a present that elated her and filled his or her eyes with such a sparkle that it made you happy to see his or her face, or those goofy times such as ice skating and he or she falls pulling you down with him or her and you both stare at each other laughing as if you two were the only people in the ice rink.

The laugh or amazement that he or she gets after you flirt or pick on him and her is a result of romance and is what makes your love that much more bonded. The word means more than just the act of love or being in love. It means about all those special ways you won your other half over. This word can be related to many songs and pieces of art. The song I Put Your Picture Away by Kid Rock and Sheryl Crow is a song that talks about how the bond of romance resulted in their attraction even after he hurt her and they were separated. “I was headed off to church. ”(Sheryl Crow) “And I was off to drink you away. (Kid Rock) Kid Rock demonstrates in these words that she was on his mind after even after the long period that they were separated. “I found your picture today. ”(Sheryl Crow) “I swear I’ll change my ways. ”(Kid Rock) “I just called to say I want you to come back home. I just called to say, I love you, come back home”(Sheryl Crow and Kid Rock) He had cheated on her and even after all the crying and all the alcohol, they end up together. The bond that these two have in the song is strong and could only be a result of the strengthening that took place before the relationship, romance.

It is an incredible word that, even though abstract, it has a huge effect in the world. There are many paintings and things of that nature that romance inspires. The painting I wrote you every day for a year was painted in the thought of the movie, The notebook. This painting showed the kiss the young couple had when they saw each other for the first time since the man had moved away. She fell in love, after he had moved away, with another man because she thought he forgot about him but the emotional attachment created before they were torn apart kept them together.

The love could be felt from one walking into the movie at this seen and not know the complete story. This The according to the books “Magic of Making You” or the “Ex Back Formula” 86% of couples get back together. This explains that the magic of a bond made by romance. The bond is so strong and can endure the heaviest of mistakes that most people make when in a break-up situation. This romance is creating an emotional attachment that nothing can break apart. When you look at the word you can see a root word “Roman”. How could such a strong and fierce empire have a name that is a root word for such a vulnerable word?

Well actually the word is derived from the word romantic, and the word romantic was used to describe romantic languages such as the roman language. It was such a soft and hypnotizing language that saying something bad to a foreign traveler would be taken as saying something sweet and entrancing which brings up how the word means to make someone feel loved. In these days we are in, it is the Italian and French languages that we think are romantic languages. These civilizations are derived from Roman and Latin civilizations: This is why these languages are spoken in such a beloved tone.

Romance is a big part of everyone’s life. People who are “smooth” come natural to it and people who are “awkward” some aren’t so good at it but romance is something that can’t just be learned or taught, it is something that one would have to use their personality to do. Romancing may be something that could be picking or joking around to one person and to another it may be talking about things she or she likes such as sports, life, games, books or even something like comics or trading cards. People find very different things attractive but that is what makes us all unique.
