There is not very much written about Lady Machete’s physical appearance. She seems to be portrayed as a very feminine looking, beautiful lady that has a very tough and harsh personality. Photos from films have often shown her as a beautiful, fair- skinned woman with red tinted hair. She was born as Grouch Engine Bolted and was the daughter of the Prince of Scotland. Her childhood seemed to be very unstable and unhealthy. She was a pretty girl and often taunted by men.
When she was seven Lady Macbeth was sent to a castle to live until the age of fourteen. Before meeting Macbeth, she was married to Agile Concealing, who was killed by being burned In a hall with 50 of his men. They had one son together. She later married the Scottish general, Macbeth. Lady Macbeth was known throughout her life as an attractive woman of strength and power. She knew how to use her beauty and confidence to control others. Over the years, this attitude and her feeling of being abandoned by her family gave her a level of power that intimidated people.
Her parents eventually went bankrupt and lost everything when she was around seventeen. They both died heartbroken by their daughter’s betrayal when she was twenty. Her childhood played a big role in her actions later in life. She wanted to break all ties to her family and insisted that she be called Lady Macbeth. Lady Macbeth says to Macbeth “A foolish thought, to say a sorry sight”. She is referring to the blood on his hands. This shows that she has no heart or respect for her husband.
She is a very cold person who hides her painful past by degrading others. Lady Macbeth says “Glacis thou art, and Castor; and shall be what thou art promised. Yet do I fear thy nature; It is too full o’ the’ milk of human kindness”. She is worried about whether or not he has the guts and ambition to take the crown. She believes he is too weak and too kind to do what it takes. Again, she clearly shows that she has not morals or conscience of hurting other people. She was used and hurt as child and that is how she gains power as an adult.
Lady Macbeth says to Macbeth “How now, my lord! Why do you keep alone, Of sorriest fancies your companions making, Using those thoughts which should Indeed have died. With them they think on? Things without all remedy should be without regard. What’s done Is done”. She shows no remorse for the murders. She Is saying what’s done Is done, It’s In the past and there Is nothing you can do about It now. So man up and move on with our lives. Everything In her world Is that simple and that harsh.
