Trying to find a meaning on everything is really complicated you might say. Everyone has their own way to seeing things. Everyone thinks differently and have their own opinions. I chose a song to work on and to try to find the main meaning to it. The song that I chose was I Love The Way You Lie by Eminem Ft. Rihanna. This song is a love/hate song with a lot of meaning to life. I want to talk about the chorus of the song. The first and second line of the song simply has a meaning on its own. Just gonna stand there and watch me burn, But that’s alright because I like the way it hurts, explains to me that sometimes in relationships it would hurt you but it’s an addiction and can’t handle to keep it and love it cause that relationship is one not to lose. The rest of the chorus implies the same as the first half of the chorus. “Just gonna stand there and hear me cry. But that’s alright because I love the way you lie. I love the way you lie.” The only thing that is different is the last part, I love the way you lie.
That can be anything but to me is that no relationship can be honest to each other, and simply lie to one another. Also the tone to the song is really deep and really well explained on a relationship that struggles with one another. The singer talks about how two people who meet and fall in love, however, as time goes on, they start to resent each other and the man becomes physically abusive. The woman takes it at first, but then she tries to leave him. He promises her that he’ll never hurt her again and he’ll try to control his temper, but he’s lying.
He says that if she ever tried to leave again, he’d kill her. The woman knows that this is all just a lie, but she keeps going back to him because she loves him. Many people go through this, not everyone but most people are so stupidly madly in love with one another that they will do anything to be still together even though someone is getting hurt. The meaning that I got form this song is that relationships is a struggle but love is what keeps them together.
