Rosa Parks stood up for what is right, even when others weren’t brave enough, even when she sat in a cold dark drewry cell, she still made the decision to stand up for what is right. Rosa Parks never thought twice about her decision to not give up her bus seat. Would you be brave enough to stand up for what is right even if it meant going to jail, or losing your job, not being able to get hired? After she was arrested she couldn’t even get a job? She was even fired from her old job.
Rosa Parks was born on February 4, 1913. She was born in Tuskegee Alabama.Her parents were named James and Leona McCavley. Her parents were separated when she was 2 years old. She was awarded the MLK award. She was a very active civil rights activist.
Rosa Parks attended segregated schools. She attended Industrial School for Girls in Alabama. She had to walk to school everyday because there was no bus and walking was the only way to get there. In 1932 she got married. With the help of her husband she was able to graduate and got her diploma.
In 1865 they started passing the segregation laws. Even by the 1940s you couldstill find signs that are only white signs. People would get mad if blacks started moving into an “only white” neighborhood. The housing act of 1949 helped soldiers returning from world war 2, but it was only for people who where white they were the only people who get helped by this act. Families who where black couldn’t even buy houses that where for sale.
Once she graduated high school she became active in civil rights. In 1943 she joined the Montgomery of cheaper of the NAACP. On September 1, 1955 she was arrested for not giving up her seat to a white person on the bus . All the other black passengers stood up and moved to give up there seats. She was the only black passenger who would not give up her seat. She refused and said she was tired after along day of work. They called the police and she was arrested for standing up for what was right. She is not the only person to not give up there seat. There where number of people who have this.
There are 7 key things that we believe in our faith. Rosa Parks demonstrated the rights. She is rights because of her acts and all the things she has done for civil rights. She acts for equal rights for everyone. Rosa Parks played a huge roll in the act for civil rights. We should all strive to be like her some day. After she got out of jail she lost her job. She was not able to find work. No one would hire her. She had to endure death threats for years. And one day she decided to write and autobiography. On October 24,2005 she passed away. She passed away from dementia that she had been having to deal with for 3 years. She had been awarded the Martin Luther King jr. award for all of her brave acts. This award was given to her by the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. Rosa Park was an extraordinary person who was brave enough to stand up for what was right. She was so extraordinary that she never regretted her decision. We can all learn and receive from this amazing person on how we should act and how to choose our battles wisely. The question is how would you be able to stand up for what is right? Would you be brave enough?
