The greatest thing that can happen to a person’s life is to discover what his true purpose is. I discovered mine at an early age.
I feel fortunate and blessed to uncover the real meaning of my existence. I know I am in this world for a reason and that is to touch people through the wonderful art of music. I am most happy when I hear melodies. Life is a melody.
If you learn to sing its tune you will survive. I wish to further pursue my passion in music. I desire to study in America and expand my rich musical history. I learned to play the piano, violin, and traditional Korean flute when I was yet an elementary student.
I was mesmerized by the beauty of the sound these instruments create. It was pure bliss to discover what each musical instrument can produce. I was always overwhelmed with pleasant anticipation to master each one of them and came up with my own melodies. I played the piano during our special musical presentation in junior high school.
I did not limit myself to playing instruments as I realized my own voice is a wonderful musical instrument too. I joined the choir and found out I can sing as well as I can play the piano. I also tried acting classes to learn how to connect with my emotions and channel them into art. I decided to major in popular music and started composing pieces.
After graduating, I resumed my studies at a music institute where I learned to appreciate jazz and honed my singing skills. I tried my luck and participated in several competitions. I also auditioned for entertainment agencies. I sang in clubs.
For two amazing years I taught children at the piano institute. It was a pure delight to impart my knowledge in music. I was fortunate enough to be mentored for the next six months by a popular Korean composer. I was chosen as one of the back-up singers for a famous Korean pop icon during his highly successful concert.
I love to create music, sing them, and play instruments. My ultimate dream is to become a successful singer/songwriter. I wish to fulfill this dream through my studies in America. Music is my life.
