There are several potential & highly “Plausible Solutions” for reducing Food Waste that can be adopted by both businesses (corporations/franchises) and people alike. As highlighted in the article entitled, “Tightening the Belt by Reducing Food Waste” written by authors Sarah Dominguez & Laura Moreno & subsequently, published in November Of 2012, three businesses by the name of Dodgers Stadium, Clark University & Hannaford Markets have come up with their own unique solutions to the issues of “Food Wasting”.
Dodgers Stadium employs not only “Inventory Awareness” which essentially is “actively verifying deliveries for their accuracy, in addition to, establishing quality control with the use of stamping dates & effectively rotating products” (Dominguez, S, & Moreno, L. (2012) In addition, the use of “Trim Trax” together with Staff Communications Strategies, Dodgers Stadium is better able to reduce their food waste.
Likewise, since the year 2007 and introduction of the food company “Sodexo Food Services”, Clark University directly utilizes Flexible Menu Creations (effectively reuses/repurposes leftovers from other meals), “Batch Cooking” (only cooking what is need at the moment, while watching for customer favorites essentially replenishing only when needed) and has an excellent communication system between all staff members in order to maintain their Plan to prevent food waste.

As well as planning meals in advance (such as weekly or even monthly), going food shopping while on a full stomach (in order to avoid “impulsive food purchases”), and leaving the children at home while you shop since “those with children produced 41 percent more food waste than similarly sized households without children” (Publications, I. O. (2012, December 17) can effectively help save money and cut down on food wastes.
Another consideration to look into if you take the latter precautions, yet you still find your household throwing away food is to, get a new refrigerator as there may be an issue with your temperature control system of your fridge model. This is because, “not all newer models have digital temperature controllers which happen to be the preferred (Parker-Pope, T. (2010,
November 01). Lastly, it is vital that families, place a higher regard on refrigerators which have the “best sight lines, so they can essentially see what they are storing in the fridge. Rather one lives in North America, Europe, Asia, the Middle East or Africa, Food Wasting affects us all. Consequently, since we share this world, we have not only a duty (moral colligation) to ourselves and “Humanity” as a whole, but to the “environment” as well. What separates the Westernized (First World) from other countries (second & third world) is only an illusion. We are all human and need to eat in order to sustain ourselves as well as our families and communities, this is why food wasting is important.
Consequently, this Persuasive Speech effectively highlights the extent & complications concerning our world’s current “Food Wasting Issues” in addition to highlighting some plausible solutions concerning reducing Food Wastes by citing valuable solutions to their moral concerns. Food shortages in addition to massive starvation are more than likely to continue and spread at a rapid pace, effecting a large portion of the world’s population if sustainable food preparation, cultivation & transportation are not further implemented or met. The government must do more in order to actively educate the general public on the negative consequences of wasting food and its overall impact on other less fortunate countries as food waste is a Global Issue.
