But water is certainly the main attraction of the island. Crystal clear and shimmering especially during the hot summer months, the sea framing Puerto Galera is ideal for swimming, sailing, surfing, snorkeling and scuba diving. Boracay Island is a great place for just lazing around. Seven km long, it is only one km wide at its narrowest point. There is a beautiful beach on the west coast with very fine white sand, particularly near Balabag.

The water is quite shallow, however. For snorkeling the east coast is better but beware of rips. There are scores of little sandy bays scattered around the island; they make an attractive alternative to the ever-popular White Beach. Boracay is also well known for its now very rare gleaming white puka shells, said to be the best in the world. For years puka shells were dug out of the beach at Yapak and then sold. For many people, Boracay is the typical Pacific island paradise.

Every day seems to be a holiday on Boracay – all you need to do is relax and enjoy yourself. Just get up, make some coffee and decide whether to go sailing, windsurfing or perhaps snorkeling and looking at corals. These two popular tourist destination have a lot of similarities like having a white sand beach, the water is there main attraction, water activities like scuba diving, snorkeling, sailing , fishing and many more. both have a quality services in several hotels, resorts and restaurants within the area.

Both known in the other country as one of the beautiful beaches in the Philippines. Both popular destinations worldwide bringing in thousands of tourists from different countries. Eventhough they have a lot of similarities they also have many differences in many ways. like in the cleanliness the Boracay is very crowded because of the many foreign tourist are coming every summer but the Puerto Galera White Beach is not that much many tourist coming so the Beach stay its natural appearance.

In beauty Boracay has one of the best beaches in Asia, which is approximately 4km in length and consists of powdery white sand so the beach is definitely more attractive than in Puerto Galera. However, Puerto Galera has a wider variety of scenery within easy reach like mountains, waterfalls, forest and many more. In safety both are safe. However, if you are a foreign tourist travelling to the Philippines for the first time you will feel more at ease in Boracay due to the large number of other foreign tourists. The Boracay is more crowded than the Puerto Galera White Beach.

Theres no clear winning here because its both located in our country. Both locations are worth to check out and offer different perspectives. While Boracay has that “international beach destination thing” going for it. it’s a fully established, maybe even over-developed holiday destination Puerto Galera offers a whole bunch of different activities on another, more intimate scale like jungle, mountains, even a golf course and all that in close proximity to Manila, make it an interesting alternative to beach combers and ocean lovers alike.
