Throughout the play, both Romeo and Juliet are deeply and madly in love with each other. Although they are both very young, I believe their love was mature. I say this because in those days the life expectancy of a healthy person was 40, maybe 50 if you were lucky. This meant that they had to start their lives earlier and go through all of the experiences of adulthood at a younger age. I also believe that as they grow older and spend more time together, they will fall more and more in love with each other and if their love as not mature before, it would be eventually.

The text also shows examples of their love being mature. One example from the text is the quote on page 788, lines 49-52. “ROMEO: The measure done, I’ll watch her place of stand And, touching hers, make blessed my rude hand. Did my heart love till now? Forswear It, sight! For I newer saw true beauty till this night.

” This dialogue from Romeo tells the audience that Juliet is breath-taking and Romeo falls in love with her at first sight. It also tells the audience that he has never been in eve like this before which means that he will most likely stick by her side through thick and thin.

I believe this shows that their love is mature because he knows how he feels and she really has an effect on him. Another quote that’s a good example of their love being mature Is on page 798, lines 33-36. “JULIET: O Romeo, Romeo! Wherefore art thou Romeo? Deny thy father and refuse thy name; Or, if thou wilt not, be but sworn my love, And Ill no longer be a Caplet. ” This quote Is very famous and most people don’t realize what It really means. Juliet Is to asking where Romeo Is; she Is asking why he Is Romeo, a Montague. She also says that if need be, she will no longer be a Caplet.

I believe this shows that their love is mature because Juliet is willing to deny her family name in order to be with the love of her life. A third quote from the text that I think proves their love mature, is from page 815, line 30-34. “JULIET: Conceit, more rich In matter than In words, They are but beggars that can count their worth; But my true love is grown to such excess I cannot sum up sum of half my wealth. ” These lines spoken by Juliet tell the reader, or the audience, that Juliet has become more and more in love with Romeo.

Another idea that I have is that if Juliet had told her parents that she had married Romeo or that she would like to marry Romeo rather than Paris, then things would not have gone as far as they did. Her parents might have considered her feelings and given her what she wanted. The good thing about this play is that you never know; you never know what will happen or what might have happened had something been different which lets you create your own ideas and theories.
