Summary

This study aims to investigate the effects of different types of set induction on the interest, attention, and motivation of Year 5 science students. The study involved implementing story-telling and game-like activities during regular science lessons, while the teacher observed the students’ behavior and creativity level, and also recorded their interest, attention, and motivation levels. The study was conducted over a four-week period and used questionnaires, observation, and video recording as instruments for data collection. The results showed that students preferred game-like activities and story-telling, and that their interest, attention, and motivation levels increased significantly over the study period. The study suggests that incorporating different types of set induction activities can improve students’ motivation and creativity levels in learning science. The reference used is Entwistle, N.
