There is always that person in your life that has an effect on how you want to live your life. They are always there, and they are someone you can look up to. For some people, it’s a celebrity. Different people have different people that they look up. My mom is the person I have always looked up to since I was little, and she has had an effect and will continue to have effect on how I live my life. My mom was always the “all-star mom”.
Of course, she still is, but when I look back on when I was little, I now realize things that I didn’t before. Through dance, softball, gymnastics, cheerleading, piano lessons, and much more, she was always supportive of my dreams and what I wanted to do. I never realized how much she did for me until I got older, and I still continue to thank her each and everyday for what she did and still continues to do for me. My mom has been through a lot in her lifetime. She is the most strong woman I have ever met.
I look at her and hope that one day, I can be half the woman she is. She is so strong willed, and even when she is having a bad day, or something is going completely right, she still manages to keep a smile on her face as if nothing is wrong. I struggle with that sometimes. When one thing is wrong, it sometimes puts effect on everything else in my life. As I get older, I hope that if I ever go through some of things that she has gone through, that I am as optimistic as she is.
Between working and supporting me, she never gets a break. To be honest, I don’t know how she does it. I always call her superwoman. Some days I will look at her and wonder if she is going to make it through the day. Somehow, she always does. She does everything she can for her family. When I have a family of my own one day, I hope that I am a strong woman like her so that I may support my family just as she has done for 18 years of my life. She may ring herself down sometimes and say that she doesn’t want me to turn out like her, but turning out like her is exactly what I want to do. As you can see, being just like my mom is exactly what I want for my life. She is strong willed, and helps her family however she can, even if that means her sacrificing something. Her being so optimistic is what makes me smile. When I need someone to lift my spirit, she is always there. I can’t wait to see what my future holds. I hope that I can have an effect on someone’s life as much as she has had on mine.
