Application requirements- Freshman applicants are encouraged to look up the relevant deadlines and apply as early as possible to UAlbany. Applicants can send their application online via Common Application or the State University of New York (SUNY) application. Students may also apply by mailing in an application form, which can be downloaded.
– Applicants’ transcripts must be sent directly from their high school to the following address:Office of Undergraduate AdmissionsUniversity at Albany1400 Washington AvenueAlbany, New York- SAT or ACT scores must also be sent to UAlbany. The code for the SAT is 2532, and the code for the ACT is 2926.- Applicants are also required to submit an essay, 250 to 500 words in length. An applicant may choose his or her own topic, or choose from the following suggested topics at website.
This requirement is not necessary if the applicant has already accomplished the essay portion on the Common Application or SUNY Supplemental Application.- One letter of recommendation from a teacher or counselor is required. The applicant may use the recommendation form, which may be downloaded.Admission tipsUAlbany takes into account the following factors:- The difficulty, depth, and rigor of an applicant’s high school academic program- The applicant’s high school academic record (Applicants are expected to have completed college preparatory classes, and they are highly encourage to complete enriched and honor-level courses)- The applicant’s standardized test scores (ACT or SAT)- The applicant’s leadership potential- The applicant’s extracurricular activities and contribution to his or her communityInterviews are not part of UAlbany’s admissions process.
