Success is defined as the accomplishment of an aim or purpose (Dictionary). Therefore, many people would say success is measured in money whether if it is the U.S dollar, the Mexican Peso, or the South African Rand to that country the money means something to their citizens. The big question is what the most simplistic way is to achieve large amounts of money in a small amount of time. Compared to years before it seems that leading up to the year of 2019, being successful is more effortless than other years. People now have access to rights, education, and connections causing people to make smarter choices for themselves. Rights in general is an issued that this country has struggled with, going back to the oldest dates.
You would think by the 21st century that this issue would have been dealt with, wrong. Inequality for pay is usually directed towards gender, and race. The fact of the matter is women and minorities have all been paid less than the white man, and sometimes would even be working for free. Well times have changed, even though there is still a gender and race gap with pay that have not stopped women and minorities from cutting checks.
Many women are beginning to fight for the equal right for pay as well as become their own boss, and start to move up in the cooperate world and the same goes for the minority population though people are used to seeing these two distinct groups at the bottom they are starting to rise and create revenue that the white man will never experience. For example, according to Forbes of the world’s highest-paid celebrities out of the top five, four of them fit into the categories above, the celebrities include Floyd Mayweather Kylie Jenner, Judy Sheindlin, Dwayne Johnsson who all created their own brand (Forbes).
Education is also another reason why people are becoming more successful with the year just starting. As you know before, education was not force upon children and most would drop out within grade school and start jobs in factories or for the family business. But now, all children are required to attend school to a certain extent because it is law, and good for them. This leads to higher graduation rates and more students getting accepted to college, which creates another block in the road. Paying for college can be a hassle but in recent times people have started scholarships, government assistance, and other finical help to so students can pay for their future, and then if that still doesn’t work people have community college to attend, and many colleges offer online classes and careers. Let’s face the fact education is everywhere and so is opportunity.
People who have some type of degree are guaranteed to get paid more, and since the class of 2019 has not graduated yet let’s look at the college graduates of 2018. In 2018 on average the graduated class would be making $50,390 a year on average, up from $49,000 last year (Burnett). Which shows a tremendous increase and just compare that to the amount of people who didn’t have the chance to graduate and had to work in factories that paid them cents a day. This is the simplest way of becoming successful, the only drawback is having the right ideas and the right people in your circle. As you can see in 2019 becoming successful and well off, in whatever you chose is not hard. Unlike the times before people are getting paid more to have an actual income to provide no matter the race, ethnicity, gender, or religion. Education has become a household name and gives chances to people who would never consider education an option due to their life style. And as far as connections, this has become a tool of everlasting power.
