Maroon 5 is an American pop-rock band from Los Angeles, California that formed during their time in high school. The group is led by a lead vocalist and musician.
Maroon 5’s debut album, Songs About Jane, was released in 2002 and included the popular singles “Harder to Breathe,” “This Love,” “She Will Be Loved,” and “Sunday Morning.” The album achieved gold, platinum, and triple platinum certifications in different countries. To promote the album, the band went on a tour from 2003 to 2005 and also released two live albums during that period. Maroon 5’s success led them to win the Grammy Award for Best New Artist in 2005.
Due to injuries from extensive touring, Dusick was replaced by Matt Flynn in September 2006. Maroon 5’s second album, It Won’t Be Soon Before Long, was released in 2007 and included the popular single “Makes Me Wonder,” as well as “Won’t Go Home Without You” and “Wake Up Call”. The band also released The B-Side Collection during two tours from June to November 2007, which consisted of previously unreleased songs.
In 2008, two live albums and a remix album were released. Maroon 5’s third studio album, Hands All Over, was released on September 21, 2010 in the United States. Since their debut in 2002, the band has sold over 10 million albums in the United States. Their most successful song to date is “Moves Like Jagger” featuring Christina Aguilera, which has sold more than 8 million copies worldwide as of June 2012, establishing itself as one of the best-selling singles ever.
Maroon 5 revealed their fourth studio album named Overexposed on March 26, 2012. The album was officially released on June 26 of the same year. The lead single from the album, “Payphone” featuring Wiz Khalifa, made its debut at No.3 on the Billboard Hot 100 and eventually climbed to the second spot. Their second single from the album titled “One More Night” became Maroon 5’s third song to top the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
