Of all of the books in the world suddenly vanished, which book would I choose you to ask? Well, It would come down to either The Help by Kathryn Stockett or The Gatekeepers by Anthony Horowitz. Both are extraordinary books don’t get me wrong, but if] had to choose one, I‘d pick The Help. I’d choose The Help because it’s one of those books you can really get into. It’s the kind of book that if you close your eyes, you can be engulfed in the story and can be right inside the unfolding plot. The author of The Help did something that not many writers do, tell the story from the ever-changing perspective of the characters. This helps you see the view of the story from more than one perspective, this is even a better perspective than third-person omniscient in my opinion.
The Help also had a historical background and told of the maids catering to the white families in Jackson Mississippi. it shows the reader that racism and segregation was still going down in the 1960s. Another reason this book is entertaining is, because of all the things in the plot that put a smile on your face. If you’ve read The Help, you know what] mean when I say that this is a very humorous book. You can also get a feeling of what the maids are going through and can’t help feeling their anguish and troubles. Overall, I would recommend this book to anyone who likes a funny and entertaining book. It is also a book that has sadness and will bring some readers to tears.
