Table of Content

A true football fan Imagine yourself walking through some bright shiny arched gates with the smell of sweat and hot dogs and the sound of people yelling. See the fresh paint and the open field. Welcome to a football game. There are many things that go on or that a person may go through when they go to a football game. Such as what you see, smell, taste, and feel. Yes we use all five of our senses when we go to a football game. The purpose of this paper is to give you the full exciting experience without leaving your desk or home to go to the game.

When someone goes to a football game they will see multiple styles of fans. The different types of fan are the ones who go shirtless, the alumni, the students, and just the plain dedicated fans. The ones who go shirtless usually have something painted on their chest. What is painted is usually a team logo or a letter to spell something for the team. Some of the painted people who go shirtless also have their face painted. The alumni are the fans that wear the team color and get the special seating and they are usually sitting down and not going crazy like the others.

The students are absolutely the craziest fans. They never sit down and are always yelling. They will also yell and make fun of the away team to try and through off their concentration. The dedicated fans are the ones who go to every single game and even the away games and always wear the team jerseys. That’s a little something about the basic fans. You can make the decision of which one you will make yourself. The first thing that one might hear when they walk in to a football game is the marching band playing the team fight song.

Cheerleaders cheering on their team and making the atmosphere that much more exciting and invigorating. Football players are warming up, the sound of their pads hitting and the referees blowing their whistles and the couches calling out plays. Or perhaps one might want some popcorn or a coke before the game begins just listen for the sound of venders yelling for people to buy their stuff. The sound of the home crowd cheering for their team is a sound that no football fan would mistake. You see a lot of things at a football game but your school colors will be everywhere of course.

The sight of all the hometown fans cheering hopeful that their team might win tonight is always great. It’s beautiful to see fresh paint on the gridiron. You can see the excitement on everyone’s faces but they can also be looks of nervousness for fear that your team might have an off night. The determination on the players faces make you feel more confident that you team is going to come out on top tonight. Hot dogs, nachos and popcorn are just some of the foods you might smell when you arrive at a football game.

Once you’re in the stands you might smell so other things like sweat and the freshly cut grass are some of the most popular things. The smoke from the grills is one of my favorite things to smell it always makes me want turkey legs. Ok so right about now you might be having a major snack attack so let’s hit the consecution stand for some of those famous nachos. Now I don’t know if you have ever been to a football game but one of the best things to do is eat which I am a big fan of doing.

One of the best things that I have found to eat at football games is a big box of popcorn which goes great with a large DR. pepper. There are so many great things you can taste at a game but I don’t have time to name them all. The worst thing you can ever taste is defeat that is something that no one ever wants to taste. It’s bitter hard to handle and at times just downright cruel bitterness is something that I don’t suggest. On the other hand one of the greasiest things you can taste is victory.

It is the sweetest thing you can ever taste it always goes down easy and will never leave you upset. The feeling surrounding a football game is so addictive one game and your hooked I promise. There are all kinds of emotions you might be feeling during a game excitement joy nervous are some of the ones that came to mind. If it is one of those good games you will be feeling excited and nervous at the same time. The exciting feeling comes when your team might be able to win but the nervous maybe if your team may be close to losing the game.

Sometimes you win and sometimes you lose its just part of the game. Majority of the time one wants their team to win it just will not happen just simply because the other team is better. That person will go into the game excites wanting to see their team upset the other team but sometimes it just is not going to happen. The joy always comes from when you win. The joy of winning is a feeling like no other. Sometimes you just want to kiss everyone around when you win a close game but then sometimes when you have the joy of winning a blow out you feel the just joy of winning.

I personally hope this has giving you an interest in participating as a fan at a football game. If so the purpose of this paper has been fulfilled. I have explained to you what a fan might look like, what he or she might see, feel, smell, taste, or hear while attending a football game. If you feel inspired just remember that your Red Wolves play on Saturdays during the fall so keep an eye and ear out for the schedule and times of the games. I’ll be there can I count on you my friend?
