Develop local restorer and contingency operations plans. Process and review CO systems requirement documentation, telecommunications service requests, status of acquisition messages, and telecommunications service orders. Perform strategic and budget planning for networks. Categorize, isolate, and resolve network problems. Perform fault isolation by validating, isolating, and correcting faults, and verifying service restorer with customers.

Process, document, and coordinate resolution of trouble calls from Workup Managers and Functional System Administrators.

Manage remote dial-in communications capabilities and remote strutted print services. Implement software patches, security fixes, and test and validate modified system configurations. Manage organizational equipment accounts–verifies receipt, perform audits, and resolve and reports discrepancies. Monitor and manage user subconscious, maintain base equipment and accountable software inventory using the Air Force Equipment Management System. Oversee initial, joint and annual equipment inventories; monitor status of report of survey, report of excess equipment, and equipment disposition and turn-in.

Monitor maintenance contracts and determine repair cost-effectiveness. Provide training to unit-level equipment custodians. Administer the full range of IA disciplines to include Computer Security, Network Certification and Accreditation, Emission Security, Information Assurance Assessment and Telecommunications Monitoring and Assessment Programs. Provide accreditation guidance and advice to Designated Approving Authorities on classified or unclassified networks. Interpret IA directives and policies.

Provide program guidance to users through training programs and staff assistance visits. Enforce IA compliance through inspection programs. Review network configuration change proposals for compliance to information, system, and network security directives and local policies. Provide guidance, assistance, training, and education to unit COMES Responsible Officers (Cross) and Secure Telephone Unit Ill Responsible Officers (Cross) on proper control, accountability, and destruction of COMES material. Implement, interpret, and supplement COMES directives and policy.

Maintain documentation on user accounts and ensures 1 00 percent accountability of tape-based and Electronic Key Management System keying material. Conduct semiannual COMES audits ND inventories on CROP accounts and reports COMES incidents according to OAF and DoD policy. Issue tape-based or electronic material to CROSS using the Data Transfer Device (DAD) and provide DAD training as required. Perform system resource management, manage system user accounts, perform system-wide backups, and load and capacity planning and management.

Install, implement, configure, and maintain functional system components. Connect systems to infrastructure. Administer database operations, implement conversions, and investigate problems in database environment. Conduct local functional and connectivity testing to ensure continuing operability, provide ongoing optimization and problem- solving support, and recover systems from malfunctions and security intrusions. Provide customer assistance and informal training for assigned systems. Utilize network components (e. . , trusted routers, bastion hosts, gateways, firewalls, etc. ) or information systems to enforce mandatory access control. Apply computer security requirements to safeguard systems and information. Securely process, track, and oversee delivery of classified and unclassified message traffic via Defense Message System (DMS) and Exchange E-mail System. Manage domain and exchange administration and train customers on Secret Internet Protocol Network (SPINNER) usage when SPINNER systems are collocated in message centers.
