In order to lower the risk of fluctuating revenue, GMB has diversified into various other activities such as those stated above to provide it with a steady stream of revenue all year round. Opportunities With Singapore legalising gambling in its country, GMB have took the opportunity to open a resort casino in the country in order to capture the lucrative high rollers market there. Other than Singapore, GMB has made urther investments in other countries in developing its name as one of the international gambling and entertainment giants in the world. Threats The presence of The Sands empire opening its premise, the Marina Bay Sands in Singapore have be a threat to GMB. There is a risk of loss of revenue to The Sands as it too is involved in the gaming and casino business. In its home country, the recent political instability due to the change in the structure of the government from the recent general election might have an impact of GMB’s gambling business.

There is a risk that the government might restrict GMB from carrying out its casino activities as it wishes to reduce the probable negative impact of the casino business on the public’s social behaviour. The location of GMB’s resorts on the peak of the hill also poses a threat of landslide. Due to rapid development in the surrounding area, the area has been active with landslides in the past mainly at Genting Sempah. Genting Sempah is the transit point to Genting Highlands and this pose a threat to GMB’s business where visitor might not be able to have access to Genting Highlands.
