“There is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so.” (Hamlet, Ace 2, Scene 2)
I chose it because I used it in a conversation.
During a conversation with my mom about Toyota’s recall issues, I shared a quote: “There is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so.” She disagreed, stating that there is indeed good and bad in the world, but immature individuals stubbornly project their immature wrong thoughts onto good things.
Secondly, I shared this quote during a conversation with a church pastor, who responded by saying that the world is abundant with both good and bad things.
During a conversation with my friends, I shared a quote related to Toyota’s recall issue. However, my friends did not respond to it. One of them expressed the opinion that despite the recall, Toyota is still perceived as untrustworthy and they believed that Toyota’s deception could potentially harm all Toyota drivers.
The Iraq war began due to the 9/11 terrorist attack, which was motivated by the terrorists’ animosity towards the US. This animosity towards the US originated in the 1980s and raises doubts about its justification. Could it be merely their own thoughts that drive their hostility towards us?
Both President Obama’s accomplishments during his term and Toyota’s recall problem have garnered both criticism and praise from the public. Individuals hold differing views on which policies are advantageous or detrimental to their lives. Although some policies that receive acclaim may have negative outcomes, others that face critique may actually enhance people’s lives. Ultimately, the viewpoints of critics and supporters are shaped by their own thoughts and perspectives.
In relation to Toyota’s recall issue, many individuals believe that the company acted poorly by engaging in lies and deception towards the American public. Personally, I share this viewpoint that Toyota made a mistake. However, it is important to consider the perspective that what is considered “bad” can sometimes be viewed as an “unavoidable thing” that Toyota had to confront. While they may have misled people and participated in questionable practices, there might be factors or circumstances influencing their actions.
