The characteristics of an intimate relationship are behavioral interdependence, need fulfillment, emotional attachment, and emotional availability.Behavioral interdependence is the mutual impact we have on each other in our relationship.
Our need for fulfillment is being able to share intimacy, social integration, nurturance, assistance, and affirmation. Emotional attachment and emotional availability is the feeling of love that there are different types of intimacy, and to be able to give to others emotional without the fear of being rejected. Each one of these are important in relationship development because they are the bases to beginning to a good relationship. When you are missing one or more of these characteristics your relationship can fail.
. What problems might form barriers to intimacy? What actions can you take to reduce or remove these barriers? Miscommunication, dysfunctional family background, and jealousy are some barriers to intimacy. I think that communication is a big part in reducing or removing these barriers. I have a very dysfunctional family and do not let that stop me from trying to have a intimate relationship with someone.
I communicate to them about all the things that I have gone through in hopes that they will communicate back with me the things that they have gone through.Jealousy is a hard one there are several reason why a person can be jealous of the other person. If you deal with the issues that you may have about being jealous and why you are becoming jealous you have a chance to fix the jealousy before it gets out of hand. 3.
What are the common elements of healthy relationships? What are some common warning signs of trouble? What actions can you take to improve your own interpersonal relationships? Some of the common elements of a healthy relationship are learning to communicate and respect each other, also sharing a genuine fondness of each other.Some of the common warning signs are a lack of communication, jealousy, financial concerns, career problems, abuse, and lack of trust and respect for the other person. I can have more communication with the other person, not bring my past experiences into my new relationships, and if you are having trouble then it is good to talk about it. I believe that communication is the biggest part of a relationship and if you do not communicate with the other person then you are never going to have a healthy relationship.
. Why is social support important to an individual’s health and wellness? What type of social support do you have that has positively affected your health and wellness? I think that when you have social support you are able to balance things between you and your partner, so that the stress is not on just one of you. When you equally share the stress that comes with having a healthy relationship you are able to overcome more obstacles and your relationship and will be able to with stand some hard times.Being able to share the financial responsibility with someone is something that can make you less stressed.
Also being a single parent it would be nice to have someone help me around the house to do all the responsibilities that come with having a house. I think a big one would be a shared emotional support, it can be very hard to have to deal with things all on your own, when there is someone there to help you deal with the emotional side of things your relationship becomes easier.
