Japan is always easily overlooked as just another country, but it’s actually very different and unique. Japan has many cool characteristics that not many people care to learn about them or even know about them. Japan is a beautiful place to visit or even live for some people.Japan is located south in the continent Asia. The capital of japan is tokyo.The population in 9.273 million.Tokyo is one of the most populous cities in the world. It is a very interesting place because it is nothing like here. They have different customs and different ways you greet different people it’s actually pretty interesting.Japan was discovered in 660 B.C.During the 1980s between 6 and 7 million people were moved into japan. Japan’s government includes, Constitutional monarchy, Parliamentary system,and the Unitary state.

They have an amazing educational system and their children are ahead with their educations.Page 2WARSJapan was in a few of the big wars like WWI, and WWII and the CIVIL WAR. The reason and the time period, when japan was in the civil war was Yayoi time period through 1868-1869, it was also known as the JAPAN’S REVOLUTION. The reason they were in it was because the forces of the ruling Tokugawa shogunate and those seeking to return political power.Japan was in WWII because of Following the U.S. declaration, Japan’s allies, Germany and Italy, declared war on the United States, bringing the United States fully into WWII.  The time period was in September 1, 1939 – September 2, 1945.Now Japan was in WWI and the time period was in  1914 to 1918, and the reason was because in an alliance with entente powers and played an important role in securing the sea lanes in the West Pacific and Indian Oceans against the Imperial German Navy.Government Japan had three part of Government and those are, Constitutional monarchy, Parliamentary system, and United States.

The Constitutional monarchy is that the power of the Emperor is limited and is relegated primarily to ceremonial duties, as in many other states. Parliamentary system is democratic constitutional monarchy whereby the emperor acts as the ceremonial head of state, and the Prime Minister is the head of government and the head of the Cabinet. CustomsThere are five customs you must follow when in japan. The first one is “Addressing Someone, Respect”.The meaning of this is that Bowing is very respectful here.For tourists, a simple inclination of the head or an attempt at a bow at the waist will usually be fine. The second would be “ Table Manners”.Being respectful at the table is very important to them and  Rules aren’t as simple as they are here.1.You will receive a small wet cloth at most Japanese restaurants. Use this to wash your hands before eating, then carefully fold it and set it aside on the table. Do not use it as a napkin, or to touch any part of your face.2.Slurping noodles or making loud noises while eating is ok. In fact, slurping hot food like ramen is polite, to show you are enjoying it. The third custom is “No Tipping”. Tipping is actually kind of an insult in japan. You cannot tip anyone not cabs, waiters,or personal care. Your tip is included in the cost you pay. The fourth is “Thresholds”. You need to take off your shoes at the entrance of all homes, businesses, and hotels even if they’re not dirty. Finally the Fifth custom is “ Bathing”.  Sento, or neighborhood bathhouses, can be found from the largest area in Shinjuku to a small town on the island of Shikoku.FoodsThese are the seven main foods in Japan the foods are ,Rice, sushi,Tofu,Soba,curry,seaweed,and soups. These foods go good with each other really well, like rice and sushi is really good together and seaweed and soup is also really good.

They have a lot of different types of fruit like,square watermelon,nashi,melons. They have a lot of good foods and they are really creative of there foods.Currency You need money everywhere but the japanese money is a bit different from ours. There currency is called “Japanese Yen”.One  Yen coin was 1 gram.It is the third most traded currency in the foreign exchange market after the United States dollar and the euro. Higher denominations of yen are counted in multiples of 10.000.In Western countries they are counted by thousands.Places to see and visit and hotels In japan i would like to visit many places. If i could only pick two they would be Tokyo, and Kanazawa. Tokyo is the capitol of japan and it is a very unique place they anyone would be lucky to visit if they had the chance to go to japan. Kanazawa is a city in japan. It has art museums and handicrafts. I would visit here beacause not many people pay much attention to this city and i think it would be a cool place to go and learn about. Japan has many nice hotles but the ones i would choose to stay in are “Osaka Marriott Miyako Hotel” and “Conrad Tokyo”. Conrad tokyo is located at  1 Chome-9-1 Higashishinbashi, Minato, Tokyo 105-7337, Japan. The number to reach this hotel is  +81 3-6388-8000. It is a very nice place to stay while you are visiting and has a very nice view. Japan is a really cool place and some of its characteristics are interesting to learn. Someday we would even like to visit japan because it seems very cool and we could learn so much more about them and how they live. If you had the chance you should visit there too because i think you would be pretty surprised at how different and unique it is compared to here.
