I disagree that money is the most important thing in life. Everything in life requires money, but little did people know there are many other things that should come before it. To some people money means everything to them, to me money is important but it’s not the most important. You need money to survive, to meet our basic needs, to provide for ourselves and our families. Other than that, money is only able to buy you materialistic things, but when it comes to love, happiness, etc. Money is useless.
First of all, I believe that money is the root to all evil. When you have money it either changes you or everyone around you. People who have a lot of money they tend to think that they’re some kind of god, just because they possess a little money. No one should let money shape them to being how they are. So, when people see that you’re all about money, everyone wants to be your friend. Even the ones that barely talk to you or even the ones that walks right past you. How will you know who’s real and whose fake?
If you haven’t learned from experience in life yet, let me tell you, when everyone wants to be your friend, it’s either because they’re there for you no matter what or because they want to use you for your money. At the end of the day, ask yourself, will they be there for you in times of need when you don’t money? If money was important in your life, you start to crave for it, while craving it some people wander away from faith and pierce themselves with many sorrows. Having a lot of money can also lead to jealousy, and jealousy usually leads to horrific roles in life.
Crime is 90% caused by money and people nowadays would do anything for it. Having a lot of money can cause you to be greedy, and if it was important to you, you would not want to share or help anyone around you. There are people in this world that actually lets money destroy everything around them. The movement of everything in this world is based on money, it’s either you have it or you don’t. No matter the government you live by, money is usually the dictator of them all.
Also, another thing about money is when you have money you seem to have the power to talk and get your point across, where if compared to a person that has no money but has more powerful words, their words never seem to get across just because of their insufficient amount of money. The evil I see it doing is that it’s controlling us all. We’re all slaves to money. Secondly, the more money you have, the more problems you face in life. If money is the most important to you, the more you tend to strive for it, and the more you forget about other stuff and other people in your life.
Many people who have money believe that they need everything they see, even if it’s useless and has no meaning. When a person comes into a lot of money, they immediately feel an increase in buying power. It’s tempting for them to go on a shopping spree. They’ll feel like they need bigger and better things so they go ahead and buy a bigger house in a nicer area, new cars, the latest electronics, in style clothing, but little did they know the hidden costs to maintain everything will start to creep up on them. You would need to hire someone to help you maintain the property and the material goods.
You get higher taxes, and higher property taxes. The utility bills are higher, and insurance will be higher as well. While having everyone come to you because of your money they will put a lot of stress onto you and try to make you feel bad so you can give it up. You’d think they would be happy for you, and they will. But deep down majority of them will have other feelings such as, envy, resentment, and jealousy. People will start viewing you as a resource. Your family, relatives, siblings will start asking for money from you to pay off loans, college tuitions, bills, etc.
Your friends will view you as a wallet, and expect you to pay every single time, but when there comes a time that you don’t, they will see you as being greedy. However, when it comes to health, money is extremely useless. The reason why money is useless when it comes to health is because if you end up with an incurable disease, you can do whatever you please to try and save them, but no matter what money will not help in any aspect when it comes to health, a disease that’s incurable. Last but not least, some of the best thing in life comes free.
When money is the most important in your life, you tend to forget about other values. For instance, family: Family will ALWAYS be there for you. Without them, who will be there to enjoy your wealth with you? Money cannot buy people like your own family to stand behind you no matter what and support you on whatever you enjoy doing. True friends: if money is the most important to you, of course it will attract people to you, but how will you know who’s your true friends? How will you know which people will be there for you in imes of need? Money also cannot buy true friends. They only bring acquaintances into your life. It’s up to you to go through the process to see who will and who won’t. Lastly, money definitely cannot buy you love, but if it can then that’s probably not true love, because majority of the time the other person would only be with you because of your money. In order to be loved, you would have to love. To be loved and to love is free. These things are free to an extent. Most of the time the best thing in life, is something money cannot buy.
In conclusion, if money was important in your life, you tend to forget about everything else because the only thing you usually strive for is more money. Therefore, enough will never be enough. So, if enough is never enough, and you have no time for anything or anyone, it’s possible that you also forget to show the most important people in your life that you really care. Most of the time during the process of money being the most important in your life, you have no time for yourself, you lose yourself, and you forget that you’re important to yourself as well.
