You must visit my hometown, Padang. Padang is located in West Sumatera, Indonesia. There are so many object to visit here. Many tourist from different country has come to Padang. Not a little from them are also married with the indigenous people here and stay. The weather in Padang is hot and it’s good for someone who want to tanned their body in the beach. Padang is very famous with a beautiful beaches and islands. The tourists likes surfing at some beaches here. One of them is Padang beach, located in the center of Padang. Waves in the Padang beach is great for surfing. The famous islands are Mentawai and Sikuai island.
Mentawai is the beautiful island exotic and offer beauty to any who visit. Waves in the Mentawai islands, by various organizations surf-universal is the third best after Hawaii and Tahiti. In addition to beautiful, Mentawai also play an important role for conservation. Since 1981, the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural (UNESCO) set Siberut in the Mentawai island as one of the biosphere reserve, so its existence must be protected and kept away from exploitation. Sikuai island is the beautiful island too. Sikuai is rich with the nature of tropical rainforest and coral reefs.
Relax and unwind at our white sand beach amidst the coconut trees and don’t forget to catch the sunset from the Sunset Plaza viewpoint. Sikuai is where the dream truly becomes reality – you will feel like you’re on your own private island. Padang also has many restaurants that serve any kind of food originally from Padang. If you like a seafood one, you should try eat at restaurant near the beach. There are various kinds of foods derived from sea, such as; fish, crabs, shrimp, scallops, etc. They serve fried foods and baked. That food is more delicious if you eat at night.
At noon, I suggest you to drink durian ice. It makes you more fresh. You need drink a cold one at noon, because the weather here is so hot. A delicious durian ice is located on Pondok street. If you don’t like durian ice, you can try seaweed ice, cendol ice, tebak ice and ampiang dadiah ice. Usualy, if you drink durian ice, they also provide a variety of food , such as; gado-gado; indonesian salad, satay, and pempek; a spesific food from Palembang. Don’t forget to buy souvenirs from Padang. You can buy a specific snack from Padang as your souvenirs or you can buy bengkoang fruit, it’s sign of Padang.
There are so many shop that sell souvenirs from Padang. You also can bring Rendang as your souvenirs , it’s a specific food from Padang. If you confused about transportation to get you to place that you want, you can take the city car. The city cars in Padang are so unique. They design the city car with a great sticker, a good sound system and also a good color inside the car. For the cost, it’s only Rp 2. 000,00. It’s quite cheap, right?
