Through history, there has been revolutions that have affected the world in many different ways. There is two kind of revolutions political revolutions ,that are changes to the government, and non political revolution, that are intellectual, economic or social changes. The non political revolutions are important because they had shaped the way we all think, act and work in the actuality. Some of those non political revolutions are the enlightenment that was a change in the way that everybody thinked; and the Industrial revolution in Europe that changed the way goods were produced.

The enlightenment was an intellectual movement that brought an age of reason to the world that occurred during the 17th and 18th centuries. First, this revolution changed the way the European society thinked. The thinkers from the enlightenment wrote about rights and tried to apply reason to humans actions so everyone started to call for this rights. The enlightenment thinkers wanted a better society in which the people will become more equal for example John Locke wrote that all humans have natural rights that are life, liberty and property.

Second, the enlightenment changed the way the countries were rule. The people started to call for those rights that the thinkers were writing about and this created other revolutions like the French revolution. The new countries in South America also gave more rights to the people and followed the ideas from the enlightenment such as separation of powers from Voltaire and the freedom of expression from Voltaire. Finally, this changed the position of people in their society. The women also got more rights thanks to Mary Wollstonecraft who stated the “If all men are born free.

How is it that all women are born slaves? ” this thinking slowly gave more rights to the women. The way criminals were treated also changed thanks to Beccaria who wrote against the abuses of justice that helped to outlawed certain kinds of torture in many European nations. The Industrial revolution was a change in the way the good were produced during this revolution the goods started to be produce by machines in a mass quantity that happened between the 18th and 19th centuries. First, this revolution created a better life for many people.

Thanks to the industrial revolutions new technologies that helped everyone in a different way were created such as the spinning jenny that created more jobs or the railroad that created a new ways of transportation that with the time will evolve to be available for everyone. This revolution created a strong middle class and took the power away from the monarchy and gave to the entrepreneurs that invested their money in order to get what they wanted, by hiring with it people that needed it. Second, this revolution helped to create the idea of imperialism in order to satisfy the needs of the metropolis.

The imperialist country colonized the weak countries in order to get the raw materials that they needed in order to run their factories and to control important trade places and also according to then to help the native people from the colonized countries by giving new technologies and food that would help them in their daily life. From the colonized point of view the imperialist just wanted all their resources and they were willing to do whatever they can in order to get them. Finally, the industrial revolution brought new rights movements and created economic systems.

This revolution brought exploitation to slaves, women and children; and with the time all this started movements that were successful in abolishing slavery, making women and men equal and also in improving the school system. Thanks to the industrial revolution two economic systems were created: one was the capitalism in which people invest money to make more money and the other one was the socialism in which everyone get the same quantity of money or in other words everyone work for the wealth of the society as a whole.

In conclusion, many changes had being brought through non political revolutions in many societies. The enlightenment and the industrial revolution have changed our world in very different ways and shaped to the actual form that it has in the actuality. This revolutions had given us rights and many different economic systems that work in different places of our world. This non political revolutions will keep shaping the world throughout the course of history.
