Education is the most important profession in the working world. Today’s learners are very different from those that our education was designed for. With advanced technology, classrooms are being remodeled to fit the evolving needs of the modern student. Many higher education institutions are substituting traditional resources with educational technologies to keep up with their digital learning population. With computers we have access to many different sources and various types of learning, making younger students learns how to use technology at a young age, with new upload data comes more inspiration, and teachers’ ways of teaching can create more diverse contents.
Start in the Very Beginning
At the beginning, we can teach our students to learn how to use technology early with their learning, so they will be more capable of adaption to a large amount of information. Students will have no difficulties with using technology when they are out there in the workplace, which might serve to make them be more competitive compared to an individual who has no access to a certain software or technology in school. According to James Torr: “[age 8 to 11] is when children can begin to directly experience and appreciate more fully the potential of online experiences.” Young children are quicker with a phone, tablets, and computers soon they will be new relevant workforce. Technology currently plays a role in the education to young children. Educators are increasingly using technology due to the several benefits it has in the enchanting gaining of knowledge among them. For some of our young child who caught an illness they can no longer learn properly, student’s low attention or motivation, deficit disorders are more engaged with the sounds, images and interactions of a computer or tablet with this opportunity to grow up with technology, children will be motivated, they can transfer a part of themselves, they can still keep learning they will no longer be left behind, that means allowing them to participate in the same activities and learn the same material as non-disabled person. This can be an empowering experience for students with special needs. Instead of segregating them in separate classrooms, teachers can now find ways to allow students with special needs to showcase their knowledge and talents, and technology is making this possible. Students who are interested in things that they are studying are expected to have a better knowledge. Technology can help to encourage strong participation in the classroom which also is a very important factor for increased knowledge and quick learning.
New and Better Technological Update
Every time something ‘better’ and ‘new’ is brought into the market, with the continuing advances in the technological world, students are getting improved access to such educational opportunities, modern technology has made it simple for students to learn from any place in the world through online education. Also, nowadays students use up-to-date technology in classrooms in order to learn better. Most technology developers really understand the importance of bringing new tech in the classroom. This is true especially in elementary school, where a successful application of any technology depends heavily on the teacher and the lesson plan. At higher levels from middle school to college, students have more freedom to plan and schedule their work, and with careful pre-learning, they can independently make an appointment and meeting online.
’’Ultimately, it is important to remember that education technology is a tool, not a savior. In the classroom, technological tools are only as helpful as the pedagogy they support, which is true with any classroom app or product and is especially true in the case of learning a second language. Additional research is needed about the impact of new language learning technologies to inform new learning technologies to inform new ventures and to provide information to entrepreneurs who are looking to contribute in the field of language acquisition’’ according to Kushan point of view of how technology should be used not only in education. It can improve better with education across the world.
With companies like Apple, Amazon Kindle, and Google etc.… creating new device existing, students learn activities from puzzles-solving it’s a great way of teaching it to help with problem- solving and improve the feedback from other who leans the same thing. With Gaming learning, it will be easier for students to have a lot of fun while learning and it comes with impactful benefits. It’s no longer learning in one place it expands far, with TV and Radio Book it allows for students to progress at their own place. In addition, the multitudes of application and software mean that students in the same classroom can use different tools to learn similar material, depending on their interests.
Diverse Contents
Not only now that students learn via resources teachers can now create diversity after the schools are over. According to James D. Torr: “as students use computers increases, teachers will be more indispensable than ever.” Children learn best when they receive individualized attention and encouragement from parents and friends. Teachers and parents are the guardians of students learning. After classes are over teachers can expand learning among students, that will accelerate the course and help another classmate to understand what they have missed or do not understand while in class. Students can be sent in groups to learns from a forbidden language, country, and culture. The class can go explore the outside world, go on a field trip to learn from an ancient moment, civilization, art, and history. It will no longer be based on projectors, students can bring home souvenir and picture.
What makes a good teacher? That probably depends on the subject matter and the level of the students. Jason D. Torr said: “Education today as always depends on luck of the draw- who gets the good teachers and who gets the others.” Some teachers can make even the most boring material seem interesting with diversity students will not fear the subject. Some of it has to do with personality and charisma, but part of a teacher’s effectiveness is due to his/her knowledge and application of good teaching practices. Mathematics is a subject that most students for some refuse to acknowledge and have a sensation of fear each time their in. Not only math it can be other subjects that they fell it is not worth taking. With diversity and creativity of teacher, that fear can go away, and the student will appreciate the course.
Cons of Technology
The number one worry of teacher considering using technology is the distraction. While teachers are in the learning process students can easily skip it and do something more interesting Tweeting and Snapchatting not paying attention to the lesson. Bastlista sates, “if students simply read the text at face value, they are not challenging the constructed ideologies of the text itself- nor are they actively questioning their own subjectivity within this process.” Students are also exposed to inappropriate material also called the false material out there and dangerous. Computers now can waste time, meaning now you can spend hour and hour looking for a subject and you get lost. The internet can turn out to be a Black hole. With the internet, students can get access to material easily which facilitate plagiarism. Plagiarism has been afflicting teachers forever. That makes it much harder and difficult for teachers to know if the work their students presents in hand is an original work.
But it can be fixed, starting technology at a very one age with parents and teachers help can reinforce the way of processing information and contents. With teachers doing so background research on a lesson with quicks keys notes students won’t forget the information presented.
In conclusion, technology is a valuable tool for teaching, learning and it is designed to make our lives easier. It’s still in process to take over the world and you can find it everywhere around you. We students have almost no experience of how it can be used it with our teacher’s bits of help can provide us ways to learn and develop new skills and how to interact with the environment.
