It is a known fact that Disneyland hires cast members just to keep up on the park maintenance and image alone. LA Times wrote that “after dark, the dirty work at Disneyland begins. A crew of 600 custodians, painters, gardeners, and decorators works 365 days a year to ensure that the 85- acre park meets Walt Disney’s squeaky-clean ideals” (Martin, 2010, p. 1). Being a past cast member, I have witnessed the strict guidelines that Disneyland has in making sure the park is perfect every morning before the gates open. The cleanliness and strict ways of Disney ave paid off as a result. Company profits are higher and guests are happy. Magic Mountain has low priority concerning keeping their park clean. My family recently visited the park and could not be more dissatisfied with the customer service and cleanliness of the place. (S, 2011) Yelp “The only reason I’m giving this two stars is because the rides are fun. But the rest of the park… gross. Note to Magic Mountain: Go to Disneyland, and take notes. They have better food, facilities, layout, staff, grounds, upkeep, maintenance…

Man – it’s like you guys don’t even know there’s parkland between the rides. ” Many people go to Magic Mountain strictly for the roller coasters. Some of the people that frequent the park do not care about the cleanliness of the place. The number of people who do care far outweigh the people who do not care and there are quite a few complaints such as Stephanie’s that prove Magic Mountain needs to improve their standards. (Niles, 2003), “Magic Mountain’s Mooseburger Lodge, closed by L. A.

County public health officials between March 9 and March 15 for “vermin infestation” and “failure to prevent entrance and harboring of vermin” (Magic Mountain Restaurant Closed for Health Violations, para. 1). The positives of keeping Disneyland clean and looking perfect are happy guests, returning guests, and high profits. When a company has happy guests it will run smoother because of fewer complaints. Employees who work for Disneyland prefer happy guests so that it makes their day much easier. Disneyland also experiences guests returning regularly every year.

Returning guests are very important in keeping the company running and successful. New guests are also very important because they too will want to come back if they had a fulfilling experience. Disneyland has mastered the key points to keep their guests happy by providing them with a clean, friendly, and beautiful place to enjoy. With these positive key points, Disneyland receives high profits that come in every year. The negatives of keeping Disneyland so clean and orderly are that it costs a large amount of money to have all the cast members that the company needs to keep the place looking perfect.

With so many employees and the training involved with each cast member, Disneyland has to mark up its admission prices for the guests to frequent the park along with the high pricing of food and souvenir’s. The positive point of not possessing such a high priority of keeping Magic Mountain clean is that there is not an enormous amount of money spent to keep the place up or staffing many employees. The negative side of uncleanliness at Magic Mountain develops into unhappy guests who may not ever return. If the guests do not return, there is a decline in profits.

Magic Mountain is already experiencing this situation and there has been discussion about going out of business. If a family is traveling long distance or even if they are local, it is a far better choice to visit Disneyland. This place has an atmosphere that far out rates Magic Mountain. Its friendly cast members who practice clean service and keep the park looking perfect are there for the guests when they come to enjoy their Disney vacation. The trained cast members make Disneyland an amazing clean experience for everyone.
